This is Dain's family here 🥩🍖 The weather's gotten a lot cooler lately 🌀 Where does everyone go on weekends for a family meal or a group gathering? Honestly, it's surprisingly hard to find a place that's convenient to park at, tastes good, and has a nice atmosphere all at once, especially when a big group is moving together. Last week I was wondering where to take my family and ended up at a Dongtan North Plaza spot! The place I visited was 'Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch.'

Is Grill the Terrace good for family dinners and group gatherings?

At Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch, the outdoor terrace was the first thing I saw. It had artificial turf and camping chairs, giving off a first impression like I'd come out camping.

The entrance was full of pretty plants 💐🪴

Inside, there was plenty of group seating, and it was clean and pleasant. The green plants made it feel even more refreshing?? 🌿

In one corner there were toys and books for kids 🧸🧩 Dain's radar went off the moment she saw them 😎🧐 Perfect for playing while the meat cooks!!!
Coffee-tree charcoal heat and free grill plate swaps

At Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch, once you're seated, in comes the charcoal that determines the taste of the meat 🔥 The heat is really tremendous!! Turns out they use top-grade coffee-tree charcoal. The strong heat sears the meat crisp outside and juicy inside in a short time, so you can really taste the meat's own juices 😋

And the side dishes came out neatly arranged! I've been disappointed a lot lately by places using mass-produced side dishes, but Grill the Terrace makes all its sauces and side dishes in-house 🤗 Maybe that's why they tasted clean and deep instead of harsh. What really impressed me while grilling ☝️ was how thorough the grill plate management was. The moment even a little char built up, they removed it immediately, and the staff swapped the grill plates on their own without being asked. Thanks to this careful attention, we got to enjoy the meat clean and smoke-free all the way to the end 👏👏 (I get moved by details like this 🥹)
What to order: Uiseong garlic pork belly, beef ribs and pork ribs

Grill the Terrace's menu features their signature Uiseong garlic meat dishes alongside pork belly, beef ribs, beef bone soup, raw beef bibimbap, and more.
What we ordered: 1-geun Uiseong garlic mixed platter, real pork ribs, stone-plate kkakdugi fried rice. We ordered their signature 'Uiseong six-clove garlic pork belly' and 'Uiseong six-clove garlic beef ribs.'

The garlic piled on top looked so appetizing ✨️

Fun fact: the garlic they use is Uiseong six-clove garlic, a rare variety of which only 1% of domestic garlic makes the cut ❕️❕️ So glossy... makes me want to eat it again 🤤

The pork belly's right amount of fat and the garlic's sharp kick came together perfectly — so addictive 👍 With the house-made side dishes, it was an unbeatable combo 😍 The beef also just melted in the mouth ~

We added more meat 🫢 Not adding more would be against the rules! The seasoning had soaked well between the layers of meat, and it disappeared in a flash haha
Finish with the stone-plate kkakdugi fried rice

We were full, but it'd be a shame not to have the K-dessert of fried rice, right? To finish, we added the 'stone-plate kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice.' It came topped with kkakdugi fried rice and savory seaweed flakes on a hot stone plate. Down to the crispy scorched rice at the bottom! We scraped it all up. Thanks to the stone plate, it stayed warm and crispy right to the last bite.
Is Grill the Terrace Dongtan worth a visit? Final verdict
From the charcoal to the taste of the meat to the attentive service, everything was so good. The space was spacious and comfortable too, so I found myself thinking I should come back here for next month's company dinner 🤗 If you're in Dongtan trying to figure out a spot for a group gathering or a family meal, give 'Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch' a try — a Dongtan restaurant where you can properly enjoy meat packed with juice.
