Salmon Brothers menu and what we ordered

The menu at Salmon Brothers is wide, from salmon to flounder and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), plus fusion dishes. We ordered the limited grilled salmon collar/belly, steamed clams in sake broth, and draft beer.

What's the atmosphere like at Salmon Brothers?

There are lots of cute little props, from its own character goods to the interior and lighting. The mood was great, and it's a Gwangalli salmon place I really liked.

Drinks and draft beer at Salmon Brothers

Even the whiskey was cheap, maybe because it's not a bar. I'd planned on soju or cheongju (clear rice wine), but the draft beer photo on the menu was so striking that I ordered that instead. Great choice of photo, honestly.

Here's the draft beer that came out first. It tasted like a well-kept draft beer, and I enjoyed it.

How do the sake-steamed clams at Salmon Brothers taste?

The steamed clams (sul-jjim) were spicy and refreshing, making me crave soju or sake. It was literally a drinking dish. It came out first, but I had another stop afterward, so I only had beer. Next time I need to come back for this with soju.

You can also add pasta noodles to the clams later, so it's two dishes in one: steamed clams and clam pasta, which makes me recommend it even more. The broth was rich with no sourness, and if it had been possible to pay for a refill, I would have ordered one more round.

Is the limited grilled salmon collar and belly a must-order?

The grilled salmon collar/belly is a limited item, only one set per salmon, so it might not be available when you visit. If it's on the menu that day, I'd say order it without hesitation.

If you're good at picking fish meat off the bone, definitely get it. They say the meat near the fish head is the best, and this dish makes you feel that. It has a rich salmon flavor you can't get from regular salmon steak or sashimi, and the flesh is tender yet springy.

The best way was to spread plenty of the sauce underneath on it and eat it with wasabi.

What noodles come with the sake-steamed clams?

The highlight of the steamed clams is the added noodles. They're linguine, a bit thicker than ordinary noodles. I worried they might be undercooked, but they came almost fully cooked, so I just dropped them in and simmered briefly.

I didn't leave the clams on purpose, but plenty were still left by the time I added the noodles, so the portion is big. We had another place booked afterward and planned to eat lightly, but I got fuller than expected. The broth clung to the noodles so well that I slurped them down in amazement.

The best combination was tomato, garlic and noodles together. I recommend saving as much tomato as you can and eating it with the noodles.
