Weekend bossam lunch and cold noodles: The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch

I was looking for good places to eat near Guro Station and ended up at The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch!!! It's a jokbal (pork trotter) specialty spot, but you can also get bossam (boiled pork wrap) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles) there!! The place is spacious with a separate room area too, so it works well for family meals, work dinners, or group get-togethers — a solid jokbal spot in Sindorim haha ㅎㅅㅎ

Getting to The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch from Guro Station, and parking

The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch is in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Exit 3 of Guro Station. It's open 11:00–22:30, with a break time from 15:00–16:00, and on Sundays it runs until 21:30. You can also pay with local currency or Zero Pay.

Walking from Exit 3 of Guro Station takes about 10 minutes, so it's a good distance if you're looking for somewhere to eat near Guro Station. For parking, there's the basement level 1 lot at Sindorim Prugio 3-cha! You can get a parking ticket matched to your dining time, giving you up to 2.5 hours of free parking per vehicle. So if you're driving, parking shouldn't really be a worry.

The entrance was easy to spot haha. There were big banners and signage hung right by the side of the building, so I found it at a glance and walked right in~ The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch is on the 1st floor of the building, so it's easy to get into!!

A spacious restaurant with a room, and tablet ordering

I visited on a weekend afternoon, and The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch turned out to be bigger than I expected. The tables have plenty of space between them, and there's a separate room area too, so it looked like a good spot for family meals, work dinners, or group gatherings!

Ordering was easy since you can do it right from the tablet at your table!! The staff were also friendly, so I could eat comfortably the whole time without any hassle.

Basic side dishes and a cold jokbal freebie

The side dishes were all pretty fresh overall, and the geotjeori (fresh-mixed kimchi) was especially good, pairing well with the bossam.

There was also a side dish we didn't expect — they gave us a taste of cold jokbal (naengchae jokbal) on the house. After eating soft bossam, biting into the cold jokbal with its tangy, spicy kick really woke my appetite back up haha. It was such a surprise service item that it made the meal even more satisfying.

There was also a chilled bean sprout soup, and taking a sip between bites of meat cleaned my palate — perfect for freshening up in between ❤️

Bossam that stayed warm to the very end

I started with the bossam, and the meat was seriously tender and soft!! It was delicious even eaten plain haha. What I liked most was that the bottom of the bossam plate keeps getting warmed, so the meat never went cold while we ate. Bossam really tastes best warm, and being able to eat it warm all the way to the last piece meant I cleared the plate happily.

Wrapping the meat in a lettuce leaf with a dab of ssamjang (dipping sauce) was absolute honey 🤤 I can't eat pork at all if it smells off ❤️ but there was zero smell here!!!!! ❤️ I saw other reviews saying people who ordered the jokbal were also really happy about the lack of smell?! Next time I definitely have to try the jokbal..!!!

Chewy jaengban makguksu

You can't have bossam without makguksu (buckwheat noodles) alongside it. Maybe because it's made fresh in-house, the noodles were nice and chewy, and the sauce wasn't too strong — the seasoning was just right. The sweet and tangy sauce came loaded with fresh vegetables too, which paired really well with the bossam!! Personally, if you're looking for a good bossam spot in Sindorim, I'd recommend ordering the bossam and jaengban makguksu together.
