Asan 13,000-won set meal with spicy pork: Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo
In short
Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is a hearth-grilled fish and Korean set meal restaurant on the second floor of a building right outside Exit 1 of Tangjeong Station in Asan. The 13,000-won Korean set meal includes a 15-dish salad bar with jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork), japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), braised tofu and rolled egg, and the writer added hearth-grilled atka mackerel and seasoned mackerel plus pot rice for 1,000 won more. Grilled fish Korean restaurants are having a moment lately, so when I heard a hearth-grilled fish place opened right in front of Tangjeong Station, I had to check it out! Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch! I couldn't help wondering if mackerel spots are just the trend right now haha.
I went for the grilled fish, but what really pulled me in was that ordering just the 13,000-won Korean set meal already gets you jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) plus a bunch of side dishes. Grilled fish is great, but if you're after a hearty, home-cooked style Korean meal near Tangjeong Station, this place is worth keeping in mind^^

- Parking: free for 2 hours in the building's basement lot, or use the paid public lot in front of Tangjeong Station

What is the restaurant like inside?

With soft yellow lighting, the interior is bright, clean and spacious — it almost felt like a hotel restaurant. The wide table spacing means strollers and wheelchairs can move around freely, which makes it great for family meals with parents or little kids in tow.
Best of all, the floor-to-ceiling windows open right onto a view of Tangjeong Station, giving the whole place an open, airy feel! And the staff were super friendly too — good good!
The 13,000-won Korean set meal and hearth-grilled fish menu

The menu at Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch splits into two categories^^
- Korean set meal, ₩13,000 — comes with salad bar access, and besides jeyuk bokkeum there's a wide range of wrap vegetables and Korean side dishes — great value!
- Hearth-grilled fish — grilled in a volcanic stone hearth at over 500°C for the right amount of time. Choices include mackerel / seasoned mackerel / atka mackerel / Spanish mackerel / Jeju hairtail
- Aged kimchi mackerel stew — tender, tangy braised mackerel
Every menu item includes self-serve bar access, and there's a separate kids' price too, so keep that in mind for family meals!
What is on the 15-dish salad bar?

A salad bar that's neither too much nor too little — just right! You can even build your own bibimbap here.

Spicy radish salad, mountain greens, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned chili, lotus root salad, pickled onion and garlic scapes, seasoned bellflower root, napa cabbage kimchi, wrap vegetables

Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) and braised tofu

Jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork)

Rolled egg
Honestly, with the delicious essential Korean side dishes plus braised tofu and rolled egg alone, you could easily finish a whole bowl — but the carefully made japchae kept my chopsticks going nonstop! Add the wrap vegetables from the salad bar and that flavorful jeyuk bokkeum, and you get a seriously filling meal^^
The great thing about this place, if you're hunting for a good Korean restaurant near Tangjeong Station, is that you don't even need to order grilled fish — the Korean set meal alone is a satisfying meal on its own!

The dessert corner has omija tea, barley tea, and brewed coffee. Soft-serve ice cream is paid, but apparently it's free if you leave a Naver receipt review — worth noting^^;;
The full table: hearth-grilled atka mackerel and seasoned mackerel

I added pot rice for 1,000 won and got a full spread with grilled fish (atka mackerel + seasoned mackerel)^^

With all the side dishes from the salad bar, it was a healthy and hearty table spread^^

My sister loaded up a generous plate of japchae, jeyuk bokkeum, braised tofu, and rolled egg^^ I thought the sauce under the wrap vegetables was hairtail jeotgal (salted fermented seafood), but it turned out to be anchovy^^? — an unusual and distinctive seasoning sauce.

As a Korean, of course I have deep affection for side dishes^^ The banchan weren't overly seasoned and tasted exactly like home cooking — I really loved that^^

Today's stars: hearth-grilled atka mackerel and seasoned mackerel!
Hearth-grilled atka mackerel: crisp outside, tender inside

Atka mackerel is usually known for its soft texture and mild flavor, but maybe because it was grilled in the hearth, the outside was crispy while the inside stayed moist and tender — a real treat.

Thanks to the power of the hearth, even the skin turned crispy and came apart easily, which made it easy to eat^^

I piled it neatly on top of the rice and took a big bite~ I ordered the atka mackerel on a blog neighbor's recommendation, and it was such a great call! Thank you^^)/
Sweet and spicy seasoned mackerel
The red seasoned mackerel is apparently coated in Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo's own signature sauce — spicy enough that even someone who can't handle spice (like me) could enjoy it comfortably^^

Again, piled on top of the rice, it hit just right for my low spice tolerance^^

Wrapped in healthy kale and lettuce leaves in all sorts of combinations! I couldn't believe how well the wrap vegetables and fish meat went together..., total happiness in every bite^^ That mix-and-match fun of pairing different things together is really the charm of Korean food^^
Fluffy, chewy pot rice for 1,000 won
Honestly, I'd personally recommend the pot rice at Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch^^ The rice is so fluffy and chewy that just kimchi alone would be enough to finish the whole bowl.

Even down to the crispy rice scorchings at the bottom — a perfect Korean meal near Tangjeong Station!
Verdict: the 13,000-won Korean set meal is the real draw

The grilled fish at Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch was delicious, but personally, what I loved most was how the 13,000-won Korean set meal was put together. The space was clean and spacious, the staff were kind, and it's a quick walk from Exit 1 of Tangjeong Station — great accessibility!
If you want a hearty Korean meal with jeyuk bokkeum on the side for just 13,000 won, I'd recommend Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch near Tangjeong Station.
