Even searching for Magok or Balsan restaurants, it's rare to find one with parking, but here it's provided, so we drove and ate comfortably 🥰 The lot is behind the store, and it even comes up on T map if you search '국민 낙곱새 강서 주차장'!

Let me write about the delicious dinner we had at Gungmin Nakgopsae Gangseo Branch. There's a chalkboard by the entrance that says "We want to be the oldest restaurant on this street," and seeing that made me expect a little more. It lived up to that expectation.

We went at a slightly off-peak time, so luckily there was no wait. The store was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere 😀

Store atmosphere — a big screen and soft lighting

Overall it wasn't too loud or crowded — the dim lighting and interior blended into a comfortable atmosphere, good for chatting over a meal.

A large screen on the wall was playing videos, so the meal never felt boring, and it matched the store's vibe well. When we visited, they even had something like Begin Again playing, so we got to eat while listening to good music.

At Gungmin Nakgopsae Gangseo, you can order nakgopsae simply and easily via tablet. I really love restaurants with tablets these days! It probably makes things easier for the staff too, haha.

Food photos and posters hung on the walls, plus soft indirect lighting made the space feel warm. The lighting running along the wall especially enhanced the mood. Tables ranged from 2-person seats to larger group tables, so it looked good for dates, friend gatherings, or family meals. Highly recommend it for a Balsan dinner or team meal!

Beef tripe nakgopsae, ₩34,900 — how were the octopus, tripe, and shrimp?

Our beef tripe nakgopsae (₩34,900) arrived! The visual alone was a treat — when you order, it comes in a large hot pot pan with the ingredients neatly arranged. Octopus, beef tripe, shrimp, rice cake, and glass noodles are laid out in sections, and a photo of it in this state looked so pretty. It's prettiest before the heat goes on, haha. The kind of visual you want to snap several photos of and show your friends.

Octopus: genuinely plump. The legs weren't limp but firm and meaty, so it had a satisfying bite. I'd recommend it as a health food too!

Beef tripe: the portion is substantial. It comes as whole pieces you cut yourself with scissors, and while cutting we couldn't help saying "why is there so much of this." The innards were nicely filled too.

Shrimp: not the small cocktail kind — these were fairly big and plump, with a springy texture when you bit into them.

Let me show you the "airport shot." This is the kind of visual that makes for a great Balsan dinner spot. The combo of pickled radish, water kimchi, and mayonnaise served alongside is truly a flavor-savvy pairing!

Especially since it's inside the store, you don't have to step outside the building or go to another floor when you need it during a meal — so convenient! The men's and women's restrooms were separate, and above all, everything felt cleanly managed.

My husband and I polished off a whole pot at Gungmin Nakgopsae Gangseo Branch, our Balsan go-to. It was spicy but not painfully so — just the right level of heat to enjoy.

The staff were also incredibly kind from start to finish, which made the meal even more pleasant.
