Locos BBQ Sangsu Branch sits in an alley just a minute's walk from Sangsu Station Exit 4. On the day I'd decided to treat my juniors to a good meal after a long while, we headed toward Locos BBQ Sangsu Branch, its bold red exterior catching the eye right away.

From the entrance the exotic atmosphere made me feel like I'd briefly traveled somewhere far away.

Inside, most tables seat 2 to 4, but there are also bar seats and window seats, making it look useful for all kinds of gatherings.

They also have baby chairs on hand, so families with kids can eat comfortably too. I heard they also do venue rentals for group gatherings or work dinners, so it seems like a good choice for anyone looking for a roomy space.

Unlimited nacho self-serve corner and 24-hour aged barbecue

The first thing that caught my eye after sitting down was the self-serve corner — plates, forks, knives, wet wipes, water, and best of all, unlimited nacho chips.

My juniors, who'd arrived before me, were already enjoying the nachos, haha😂 Apparently all the meat is aged for over 24 hours and then smoked for a long time over oak using the 'low and slow' method. That's supposedly what gives it such a tender texture and deep smoky flavor!

Four sauces were set out on the table — Tabasco, chipotle, mustard barbecue, and sweet barbecue — so it was fun picking whichever one matched my mood!

Since there were three of us, we ordered the Locos BBQ Ribs 3-Person Set (₩79,800).

Pork belly, pulled pork, brisket, and ribs in two flavors come out — and you can choose the rib flavors yourself.

Six side dishes came along too — mini buns, tortillas, grilled potatoes, coleslaw, fries, and grilled corn — so we had plenty of variety to pair with the meat.

There was also a September-only event: Stella 1+1 (₩9,000) and Hanmac 1+1 (₩8,000).

My juniors went for a cold Stella beer while I picked a zero-sugar cola.

The meat was tender and delicious on its own, but mixing it with the various sides made it even more flavorful.

That tangy, addictive mustard barbecue sauce ended up being my personal favorite.
