My friend came to visit and I went looking for a good sashimi spot. This is Donghae Bada, located in Dujeong-dong! ✨ Great sashimi, great seafood stew — let me introduce you!

We ordered the sashimi platter plus seafood stew! It had been so long since I'd had seafood stew, I was actually excited 🥹 And the idea of eating sashimi in broad daylight was exciting too!
What banchan come with the set?
Each table gets vinegar-gochujang sauce, soy sauce, small plates and bowls, and here's what the basic banchan (side dishes) looked like. Grilled fish, seaweed soup, jeon (savory pancakes), boiled pork — so much variety that I was already getting full before the main dishes even arrived haha 🐷
The sashimi platter: sea bass, tuna and flounder that day
Sashimi platter + seafood stew (for 2). The sashimi platter arrived first — beautifully arranged on a clean, pretty tray. The day we visited, the sashimi was sea bass, tuna and flounder.
The sashimi was thick-cut and soft, so delicious, and it felt great eating fresh sashimi straight from the fish restaurant! Dipping it in soy sauce, the sashimi just melted in my mouth — I couldn't not order a beer... ✨ Savory and mild flavor filled my mouth and I was so happy!
Among them, the tuna sashimi in particular was the best... So soft and fresh, so delicious!! Depending on your taste you can dip it in vinegar-gochujang, dip it in soy sauce, or wrap it in seaweed with radish sprouts on top! Everything was delicious without exception... highly, highly recommend!
The seafood stew: octopus, shrimp and abalone over bean sprouts
Then the seafood stew I'd been looking forward to arrived! When it came out, the portion was huge! I wondered if the two of us could really finish it all... but it was so good we ate almost everything, just a tiny bit left over.
The seafood stew is loaded with octopus, shrimp, abalone and all kinds of seafood, plus roe and milt! As a roe-and-milt lover, I was so happy...
After taking some photos, they cut everything up nicely so it was ready to eat right away. The roe in front looks plump and the octopus looked super firm too, which made me even hungrier!
With my mouth full of seafood, this place felt like heaven... 🪽✨ Everything tasted so good and savory, I kept wanting more. The seasoning was just spicy enough and perfectly seasoned.
Look at that portion! Every seafood stew or monkfish stew I've had before had more vegetables and bean sprouts than seafood... But Donghae Bada Hoetjip's seafood stew was different. There's more seafood than anything else... 🤧 To the point where you actually have to search for the bean sprouts!! Exactly my style 💗
If you love seafood, seafood stew and sashimi, Donghae Bada, the Dujeong-dong sashimi restaurant, is delicious in every way — sashimi and stew both! Highly recommend, definitely go check it out!
