Suyeong pasta restaurant with two pastas and pizza for 3: Extra Mile

I'd been craving pizza for days, and I wanted it from a place that really knows what they're doing. So I went looking and found Extra Mile, a pizza and pasta spot in Gwangalli. Went with two friends and we ate very, very well — here's the full rundown >_<

A converted house with a warm wood-toned interior

Extra Mile is set in a converted house, and even the exterior gives off a cozy, warm feeling 🤍

Inside, it's clean with wood-toned interiors and green plants adding a nice accent — the atmosphere was really pleasant. If you're looking for a good Gwangalli pizza spot for a date, this one's worth a visit for the vibe alone.

The restaurant has an open kitchen, so you can watch the food being made. Extra Mile is supposed to mean 'gladly going one step further,' and true to the name, the food, service, and staff were all genuinely kind — it put me in a great mood hahaha.

Ordering for three: half-and-half pizza plus two pastas

At Extra Mile you can order pizza half-and-half. We got potato pizza and birria taco pizza split down the middle, plus a peanut butter pasta and a bisque cream pasta.

Table mats you can color in at Extra Mile

One really clever touch — the table mats are meant to be colored in while you wait for the food. Each mat has a different picture! It had been a while since I colored anything, and it was fun enough that the wait flew by lol.

Before the food came out, they brought homemade pickles and drinks, each topped with a slice of lemon — such a nice touch 👍🏻

Between the coloring and the drinks, the food arrived before we knew it. One of my dishes had cilantro in it — if you can't eat cilantro, be sure to ask them to leave it out ahead of time!

How was the half-and-half potato and birria taco pizza?

Extra Mile's pizza uses dough they make and age in-house. We added cheese crust, but honestly the dough would probably be great even without it — chewy inside, crisp outside, and the more you chew, the nuttier and tastier it gets.

My personal favorite at this Gwangalli Western-food spot is the potato pizza. It's topped with thin potato slices plus crispy shredded fried potato, which gives it a really varied texture. The seasoning is spot on, and adding the cheese crust made it even nuttier.

The birria taco pizza is basically a taco turned into a pizza. I'm not usually big on cilantro, but here it actually made the pizza taste more like an actual taco, and the combination worked better than I expected haha.

What the peanut butter pasta and bisque cream pasta taste like

I'd never seen a peanut butter pasta on any other menu, so I ordered it out of curiosity. It's exactly as described — full of peanut butter aroma and flavor — but the cilantro on top keeps it from being too heavy.

Interestingly, the noodles are thick like dosak-myeon (knife-cut noodles) but curly, so the sauce clings well and the noodles and sauce don't separate — I liked that a lot.

The bisque cream pasta was another dish I'd never seen at other restaurants, so I ordered it too. Living up to its reputation as a Gwangalli pasta spot with a lot of unusual menu items, it was surprising but it suited my taste perfectly.

The shrimp flavor really comes through in the bisque cream pasta, so if you're a shrimp lover, you'll get to enjoy the full flavor, aroma, and richness of it.

Eating great food in such a nice atmosphere after a while put me in a really good mood hahaha. If you're looking for a good Western-food or pizza spot in Gwangalli, why not give Extra Mile a try?
