Hapjeong self-photo studio for a baby 100-day shoot: Iamo Studio
In short
Iamo Studio Hapjeong Mecenatpolis (이아모스튜디오 합정메세나점) is a self-photo studio in Mapo-gu, Seoul, that hosts baekilsang (baby 100-day celebration) and anniversary shoots by private rental. The family booked the baby 100-day private rental, picked the 'Grow up healthy' sipjangsaeng (ten symbols of longevity) table setting from three concepts, shot in hanbok and in the flower self-photo zone, and used only 1 hour 30 minutes of the 3-hour slot, leaving time for feeding and a nap. For first-time parents who feel unsure about styling a setup, Iamo Studio is an easy choice, with room for up to 10 family members.

Why we booked a Hapjeong self-photo studio for our baby's 100-day shoot
To celebrate Haru's 100th day, we visited Iamo Studio, a self-photo studio in Hapjeong. We'd originally thought about renting a baekilsang (100-day celebration table) setup and shooting it ourselves at home, but my parents' place is a house and I wasn't sure the photos would turn out pretty there. So we just went as a whole family to Iamo Studio 💖

Where Iamo Studio is and how parking works
Iamo Studio is located in Hapjeong's Mecenatpolis, and it was easy to reach whether by public transport or by car. Since we were traveling with a baby, we drove — and parking support was provided, haha.

It's a great studio for baby anniversary photos, but also a nice Hapjeong self-photo studio to visit for anniversary photos even without kids. There's a lovely photo zone made of flowers.

On one side, they'd written a message congratulating Haru on her 100th day, and it made my eyes well up a little 🥲

The baekilsang table setting and baby-friendly facilities
The reason I looked for a Seoul 100-day studio in the first place was that I had no confidence styling a pretty setup myself. When we arrived at Iamo Studio, the baekilsang table was already set up and ready to shoot.

There was a diaper changing table on one side, so we could change diapers comfortably. This really is a Seoul self-photo studio that's easy to visit with a young baby!

While changing her diaper, we quickly got her into a hanbok (traditional Korean dress). We'd bought it in advance to have her wear for Chuseok, but she ended up wearing it for the 100-day shoot instead, haha. Luckily, it fit Haru perfectly.

Three 100-day table concepts to choose from
For the baby's 100-day private rental at Iamo Studio, there were three concepts to choose from. I went with the safe choice, 'Grow up healthy' — a sipjangsaeng (ten symbols of longevity) table setting, haha.

We were told that if you bring your own baekil rice cakes and fruit, the owner will arrange them beautifully for you, but we were in a bit of a rush and didn't manage to order rice cakes. There's a saying that if you share plenty of baekil rice cakes, the baby grows up healthier — so I was sorry we missed out on that, haha.

Private rental for 10 people over 3 hours, and our first family photo
Since Iamo Studio's 100-day private rental allows up to 10 people, we brought the whole family along to the self-photo studio, haha. With 3 hours, there was plenty of time to spare.

This is the first family photo of my husband, Haru, and me, all three together. I'd only ever done a few life-four-cut photos before — this was my first time taking a properly styled photo like this, haha. It was self-shot, but I could've sworn a professional photographer took it... isn't the quality really good?? There's a tripod set up in front of the baekilsang table, so you just set your phone or camera, whichever you prefer, and shoot with the timer.

These days Haru puts everything in her mouth...

Shooting with a baby turned out to be harder than I expected. Their mood drops quickly, so you need to shoot fast while they're in a good mood and then let them rest. Rookie parents like us didn't know that at first... In the middle of it, while changing her clothes, we gave her a short nap break — about 20 minutes, I think, haha.

What is the flower self-photo zone like?
While the baby napped, we spent time shooting at the flower self-photo zone off to the side of this Hapjeong self-photo studio. Maybe because the Iamo Studio owners are florists, but the aesthetic of the photo zone was seriously impressive.
This is a newly set-up concept — a frame made of colorful flowers, so it was bright and pretty, haha. This space has a camera and lighting already set up, so you just take your position and press the remote.

I really liked how bright and cheerful this space was. Having visited several self-photo studios in Seoul, I found that spaces with a well-composed, pretty setup are more fun to shoot in than a clean but plain cyclorama background. The photos taken here were all sent as files by the owner on the same day 👍🏼

My husband kept asking to put the crown prop on her and take a photo, so right before we left, we sat her down and tried it... maybe because our baby is bald, but she really needed something on her head 🤣

Why a 3-hour private rental suits a shoot with a baby
Usually at Seoul self-photo studios, the shooting time available is around 1 hour, not very long. With babies, you never know how their mood will be. At Iamo Studio, the private rental was 3 hours, so we could feed her and let her nap in between and shoot at a relaxed pace. We ended up using only about 1.5 hours, haha.

They even gave us fresh flowers to congratulate Haru on her 100th day 💖 We had such a happy time at Iamo Studio.

If you're looking to do a 100-day photoshoot in Seoul, how about Iamo Studio, a self-photo studio in Hapjeong? It was such a great space for anniversary photos — I'd definitely recommend it.
