Jewelry workshop in Haenggung-dong, Suwon: LEAF rings at Loventa

Hi, this is Jlog haha. I was looking for something to do in Haenggung-dong for a special date and ended up at Loventa, a ring studio in Suwon. I was a little worried about making a ring myself, but the staff walked us through it one-on-one, step by step, so it wasn't hard at all — and it was so satisfying to make our own couple rings ♡

Where is Loventa Suwon Haenggung, and why we picked it in Haenggung-dong

Loventa Suwon Haenggung is on the 3rd floor at 22 Jeongjo-ro861beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi. It's close to Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters' Haenggung main branch too, so it was easy to find :)

Go up the stairs and the studio is right there.

It's a private space, so it was great for focusing on making the rings while still feeling like a date 🤍

Why we chose the LEAF design for our couple rings

At Loventa Suwon Haenggung, you can choose your ring design from a variety of styles. We each picked a different design.

We tried the samples on our hands and picked the LEAF design, which suited us best :) It's 92.5% silver with moissanite added, and I liked that we could each make a ring that fit our own taste.

How making a couple ring at Loventa works, step by step

Step 1: Shaping the ring with flat and half-round files

First we used flat and half-round files to shape the basic form of the ring. It was amazing watching what started as a piece of metal gradually turn into a ring.

Step 2: Sanding the surface smooth

After shaping it, we sanded down the rough spots. It needed to be more delicate than I expected, and this was the step where it felt most like I was actually making the ring myself :)

Step 3: Machine-buffing the silver

Next we used a pedal-operated machine to make the ring's surface even smoother. The staff showed me how to use it, so even as a first-timer it wasn't difficult.

Step 4: The final polish

A final polish and the part I made myself was done! Shaping it with the files, sanding, the machine, and polishing all took about an hour, and it was more fun than I expected — time flew by.

After the hands-on part was finished, a jewelry-finishing expert spent about 2 more hours refining the shape and surface of the ring once more, so with my 1 hour plus their finishing, the whole process took about 3 hours :)

Loventa couple ring prices and add-on options

Ring prices range from ₩75,000 to ₩145,000 per ring depending on the design 🤍

We went with 92.5% silver and moissanite. Plating is +₩20,000, and engraving is also available for +₩10,000, though we were told engraving is free if you write a review. *Sizes 20 and above cost an extra ₩10,000.

Two different designs, one matching pair

They looked great even with different designs 🤍 Personally, I don't think couple rings need to match exactly.

Even though we each picked our own style, making them from the same silver material gave them a sense of unity, which I liked even more haha.

Most of all, since I made the ring myself, seeing the finished piece made me feel even more attached to it ♡

Aftercare: what Loventa does once your rings are finished

Silver can discolor over time or pick up small scratches from daily wear, but Loventa offers free cleaning, polishing, and scratch care at all branches :)

Since these are couple rings we'll be wearing for a long time, I really appreciated this kind of aftercare 🤍

Is making couple rings at Loventa Suwon Haenggung worth it?

At first I thought making a ring myself might be a bit difficult, but the staff explained everything step by step so there was no pressure. What made it special wasn't just picking a ring, but making it myself for about an hour and then having it finished by an expert :) If you want something different from the usual café or restaurant date in Haenggung-dong, I'd really recommend trying to make your own couple rings ♡
