Today I'm writing an honest review of Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch, a PT-focused gym in Pyeongchon! I actually registered here myself and have been going for over two weeks with genuine affection — it's the only gym in Pyeongchon with a hotel-style interior 🖤 Even when I'm too lazy to go work out, this gym is so nice my feet just carry me there ,, Let me show you everything in detail, from the fitness facilities to the amenities, all of it was perfect 🥰

Where Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon is and when it opens

Excel Fitness PT Pyeongchon Branch is located at 7 Simindae-ro 327beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, in the basement level (B1, unit 102) of Daemyung Global Business Square. Hours are weekdays 06:00-23:00 and weekends 10:00-19:00.

Chuseok holiday hours at Excel Fitness Pyeongchon

Closed on Chuseok day itself, with holiday and weekend hours running 10:00-19:00! Please keep this in mind when planning your visit~~

How far is the gym from Pyeongchon Station?

Excel Fitness Pyeongchon is 371m, a 7-minute walk from Exit 3 of Pyeongchon Station! When I pick a gym, the most important thing to me is how close it is to the station ⭐️ and this distance is pretty close, which I loved! The farther a gym is from the station, the less I actually end up going ㅠㅠ

I go on weekdays after work, and on days off I head straight there after waking up! Weekday evenings get a bit crowded, but since the space is so large it never feels too congested — still, there are more people than during the day compared to that. Visiting during the day means you can really work out at ease 🤍

Parking: 3 hours free underground

Free parking is available in the building's underground lot! Parking time supported is up to 3 hours. It's nice that they give you plenty of time 🍀

Inside the hotel-style interior and facilities

Excel Fitness Pyeongchon has two entrance doors with a hallway in between. One side leads to cardio, stretching and lockers, and the other side has the machine and free weight zone plus workout clothes and the front desk! They use facial recognition to get in — since it was my first time, I was pretty amazed ~

There's a hanger for hanging clothes and lockers for bags in the hallway, which is really convenient~ The restroom is right there too, super close!!

Right in front of the entrance there's a water purifier and a drink fridge (paid) ~~ You can also get a drink by joining the workout selfie event mentioned above, so I recommend joining! There's another water purifier in the cardio zone too!

Workout clothes rental and lockers

Towel and workout clothes rental is right next to the entrance too! Sizes are very finely divided. Since towels and workout clothes are provided, all you need to bring is your body, sneakers, and willpower!!!

What are the locker room and showers like?

Aah ,, honestly the locker room is so pretty. It's giving dermatology-clinic powder room vibes, with indirect lighting and LED mirrors — you could just dry your hair in there and feel like a princess ^_^

There's a hair dryer, comb, and fan provided. Other than that, you'll need to bring your own amenities separately!

The showers are all fully partitioned for privacy, with 5 stalls~ Each stall has plenty of space too, so it's easy and comfortable to shower and refresh after working out.

The stretching zone

You can tell the mood inside too, right~? The whole gym got a full renovation late last year, so it's sparkling!! Most gyms with mood usually go for bright lighting, but this one leans slightly darker with mostly indirect lighting, so it's easy on the eyes while also feeling a bit cozy. It really is hotel-grade interior for a reason~~ I honestly find myself coming to the gym often since I registered here, and I think the interior deserves a lot of the credit haha

Small equipment like foam rollers, bands, and massage balls are also neatly and generously provided!

I always stretch before working out without fail! 🖤 The mats are wide and made of a dust-resistant material, so they're spacious and clean, which I love!!!! Gym mats usually collect so much dust and hair, but ,,,,, Excel Fitness is different 😆

How many cardio machines are there?

10 treadmills, 2 bikes, 1 elliptical, 4 stair climbers, 4 MyMountain machines. Out of all the gyms I've been to, this had the largest scale of cardio equipment! With 4 stair climbers especially, I've never once had trouble finding one open.

I usually only use the stair climber, but after seeing a super fit woman using the MyMountain machine here, I tried following along and it wasn't bad, so I plan to use it occasionally going forward 🖤

How big is the weight machine zone?

Next up is the weight machine space~ The scale of the machines is truly next-level ⭐️ They said around 90 machines worth ₩600 million are set up here, the first of its kind in Pyeongchon.

With so many types, machines from various country brands were set up, and it was impressive that price tags were even attached ㅋㅋ🔥 Using an expensive machine gave me the (false?) illusion that I was getting more out of my gym session^^?ㅋㅋㅋ

I've only been going for about two weeks, but even in that short time new machines have appeared and the layout has shifted a bit — I was surprised 🫢🫢 They keep updating things continuously!!

If you're serious about machines and facilities, this is a legendary-quality gym you definitely won't regret joining..!

The free weight zone

The free weight space is clean too, right~? It's kind of fun to glance at the person next to you and do similar dumbbell moves haha

Clean clean, not a single piece of outdated equipment. Excel Fitness, the Pyeongchon gym that seems to have prepared absolutely everything!

Final verdict on Excel Fitness Pyeongchon

For anyone who says 'I hate dingy gyms!' — I fully recommend Excel Fitness! The facilities are spacious and clean, the interior has a luxurious feel that puts you at ease, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to keep going 🍀 I don't think you'll find a gym of this quality anywhere near Pyeongchon or Anyang!

There's also a first-come, first-served event running where registering before Chuseok gets you up to +2 extra months, so if you've been considering it, this seems like a great chance to sign up 👍🏻
