What kind of café is Cafe Neorae in Haksapyeong, Sokcho?
Cafe Neorae is a large Sokcho café famous for its view of Ulsanbawi Rock on Seoraksan.

I visited on the last day of my trip. I'd seen the sea and was about to head home, but I just couldn't leave yet…? I thought, I have to see Ulsanbawi, Sokcho's landmark rock! So I looked around and ended up at Cafe Neorae, said to be the first café in Sokcho with a full view of Ulsanbawi 👏🏻 Seeing that view too made me feel like I'd completed my Sokcho trip…✨
Cafe Neorae has floor-to-ceiling windows so nature surrounds you on every side, but the chairs were also incredibly comfortable…! ✔️ The seats facing the 3rd-floor window are wide and comfy.

The menu is roughly ₩5,000–7,500, and portions are generous and tasty! It's a big café but the value was surprisingly good 👏🏻
The apple mango smoothie came in a pretty big portion. It must've had a lot of fruit in it because the flavor was rich, with bits of fruit pulp you could feel here and there. ✔️ Cool, tangy, and sweet — I'd recommend it!
The signature handmade banana pudding, Neorae Pudding. You can choose chocolate chip or okara crunch as the topping — I went with the unusual okara crunch. Okara (soybean pulp) has a nutty flavor without sweetness, and the contrast between the crunchy okara and the soft pudding was great (+ you can catch a faint hint of cinnamon too).
Packed with cream and banana, it was soft and just sweet enough to be delicious. ✔️ If you like a thick, dense-textured banana pudding, this one's for you.
The chocolate croissant was huge too!! It's coated in chocolate all over, even on the bottom, so it was pretty sweet overall. The inside of the croissant was soft, and it seemed like it would go really well with coffee.
Inside Cafe Neorae: 2nd floor, 3rd floor and rooftop
The café has 2F / 3F / rooftop levels — the 2nd floor has the ordering counter, bakery, café seating, and a photo zone. True to a large Sokcho café, there's a photo zone, and the pictures come out really nicely!
The spacious interior felt roomy and relaxed, and the lush green view through the floor-to-ceiling windows made it a really calming café.
This is the staircase up to the 3rd floor — open on all sides, and it was really pretty🤍
The 3rd floor is used entirely as café space, so there were lots of different seating options. No matter where you sit, you get the nature view, and each seat has its own space, making it great for unwinding 🫧

How to get to Cafe Neorae
Cafe Neorae is in Sokcho's Sundubu Village, near Hanwha Resort. It shares a building with the Yetgoeul Sundubu restaurant on the 1st floor. The café starts from the 2nd floor (elevator available).
Parking and valet at Cafe Neorae
You use the same parking lot as the restaurant on the 1st floor. There's a parking attendant, and since the store entrance opens right onto the lot, moving between the two was easy, and there were plenty of spaces. ✔️ Valet is available too.
Things to know before you go
✔️ There are baby chairs and a diaper-changing station (3F), so it's a good spot to bring kids. ✔️ Pets aren't allowed (though the 1F restaurant does allow them).
