Blueberry crumble after dinner, Gangnam coffee shop: Something About

After eating in Gangnam, I went looking for a café and finally checked out Something About Coffee, a place I'd been curious about for a while because of its wide dessert selection haha.

Once I actually walked in, the place was bigger than I expected and had a really wide range of desserts — if you love dessert, just browsing here is fun lol. That day especially, everything from the fig-topped cakes to the crumbles and baked cookies looked so good that I spent a long time deciding what to get haha.

Something About Coffee's location between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station

Something About Coffee is located at 30 Gangnam-daero102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and it's a decent walk from Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station. It's in the alley behind the Gangnam Station CGV, so it's a great pick for a second-round café after meeting up for a meal in Gangnam or Sinnonhyeon haha.

The white building exterior has "SOMETHING ABOUT COFFEE" written in large letters, so it wasn't hard to find. There were plants and a small signboard by the entrance, which gave it a slightly quiet alley-café vibe even though it's right in the middle of Gangnam lol.

A bigger Gangnam café than I expected

Once you walk in, you head up a staircase — Something About Coffee is a large café that uses space from the 1st all the way to the 3rd floor.

The inside was noticeably more spacious than it looked from outside, which surprised me a bit haha. White-toned walls, exposed ceilings, and a mix of slightly aged-looking stairs and furniture give it a vintage feel rather than a perfectly polished new look. Natural light comes in by the windows too, which made it great for photos lol. What I especially liked was the outdoor terrace.

Trees and plants blend in naturally, and the tables have decent spacing, so on a cool day sitting outside with coffee would be really nice haha. It's right in the middle of Gangnam, but just stepping into the alley completely changes the atmosphere.

A showcase with a huge variety of desserts

And of course, the core of Something About Coffee is the desserts lol. Near the ordering counter, there was a really wide array of desserts on display — cookies, scones, crumbles, and cakes. Each one was covered with its own glass dome, which looked clean and neat, and the desserts were displayed together with flowers, making the showcase itself pretty haha.

The menu was also quite varied — Americano, café latte, cold brew, cream coffee, milk tea, ade. The Americano is ₩6,500, and besides coffee there are cream-topped signature drinks designed to pair well with the desserts.

Black sesame fig cheesecake and blueberry crumble

That day I picked two drinks and two desserts haha. First, the one that caught my eye visually — black sesame fig cheesecake! It had big chunks of fig inside plus fresh fig on top, so it really felt like the season lol. The nutty flavor of black sesame and the dense texture of the cheesecake let the subtle sweetness of the fig come through, and the combination worked better than I expected.

It wasn't just sweet — the nuttiness balanced it out, so it went well with coffee too haha. The black sesame fig cheesecake is currently listed at ₩9,800. And personally, the one I really enjoyed was the blueberry crumble at ₩6,500. The base was soft and nutty like bread, with strong bursts of blueberry flavor running through it, topped with purple cream and fresh blueberries haha.

The crumble's signature crumbly, slightly crisp texture added even more variety to each bite. It looked great too, and it was one of the best-photographed items of the day lol.

Americano and hojicha choux milk tea

The Americano I ordered alongside was refreshing and cut through the sweetness of the desserts cleanly, so it paired well with the cake too haha. And the standout was the hojicha choux milk tea. Thick cream sits on top of the milk tea, with a whole choux pastry placed right on top — the visual alone was pretty unusual when it arrived lol. It had a nutty, subtly bitter tea aroma, and the milk tea underneath was smooth, almost like drinking a sweet dessert.

Eating the choux along with it made even a single drink feel pretty filling haha. I've been to a lot of cafés in Gangnam, but Something About Coffee stood out for its spacious layout and the sheer number of dessert options. The variety was so wide that picking just one cake felt genuinely hard, and I'd love to come back to try something else next time lol.
