Pain au chocolat and iced coffee at Seorae Village bakery: Remangdore
In short
Remangdore Seorae Village Branch is a bakery café in an alley off Sapyeong-daero 26-gil in Seocho, Seoul. On a sunny afternoon at a window seat, the cardamom bun (5,400 won) had a gentle spice aroma and the pain au chocolat crisp, flaky layers, both paired with an iced coffee of the day. Between the pastries and the gift boxes of baked treats, Remangdore is a solid dessert café choice in Seorae Village.

This time I was around Seorae Village and stopped by Remangdore Seorae Village Branch because the vibe looked good, haha. Seorae Village has so many bakery cafés that it's hard to pick one, but Remangdore had a slightly different feel from the others right from the exterior.

They have a wide range, from baked treats like madeleines and financiers to croissants and cardamom buns, so if you love bread it's genuinely fun just browsing, lol. This day I picked a cardamom bun and a pain au chocolat to go with coffee. I visited when the sunlight was coming in beautifully, so the photos turned out pretty nice too, haha.

Remangdore Seorae Village Branch

Where is Remangdore Seorae Village Branch, and its hours and parking
Remangdore Seorae Village Branch sits at 9-3 Sapyeong-daero 26-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 1st floor. It's across from Paris 15 Park, a good spot to pop into while strolling through Seorae Village, and current hours are listed as 8am to 9pm daily.

It fits the quiet alley atmosphere of inner Seorae Village more than a busy main street. Walking down the alley, a white-and-black building facade catches your eye, haha. At first I thought I might just walk past since the sign isn't very big, but that restrained exterior actually suited Remangdore's vibe well, lol.
The windows wrapping around the building corner and the bright awning give it a slight European neighborhood café feel. Parking and valet parking are listed as available, so it's worth noting if you're visiting Seorae Village by car.
Remangdore's storefront and its dog policy
What I liked most about the exterior was that it wasn't overly flashy. It's an ivory building with black frames, and only a small sign reading LES MAINS DORÉES sits at the entrance, haha.
Compared to cafés these days that go for big signs or sculptures, it's pretty understated. Maybe that's why it blended so naturally with the quiet alley atmosphere unique to Seorae Village, lol.
There was also a sign about dogs at the entrance. At the time of my visit, it said only vaccinated dogs could enter, and they had to stay in a designated area inside, haha. If you're planning to visit with your dog, it's worth checking the store's signage before entering.
Inside Remangdore: red and wood tones
Opening the door, the calm mood from outside continues, but the interior brings in a bit more bold color. The overall base is white, but dark wood, burgundy, and red are used throughout, making the atmosphere quite distinctive, haha.
The red packages lined up neatly on the wall especially catch the eye, looking almost like interior décor pieces. The gift dessert packaging is made quite nicely too, so browsing naturally draws your eyes to the wrapped products, lol.

In the center of the store is the bakery display case, with the coffee bar running behind it. By the window there are sofa-style seats and small round tables, and the sunlight pouring in deep in the afternoon made the atmosphere really nice, haha. At the seat I sat in, the sunlight hit directly, so the coffee and bread photos came out with really warm tones. It felt like a good spot for a date in Seorae Village or for a quiet cup of coffee, lol.

Remangdore bakery menu and gift box prices
The real fun at Remangdore Seorae Village Branch has to be picking out the baked goods, haha. Looking at the display case, there's a wide variety of madeleines and financiers. There were plain financiers, Maldon salt chocolate financiers, and nutty financiers, and the madeleines came in chocolate, roasted-rice matcha, yuzu lemon, earl grey white chocolate, red berry, double vanilla, and more.

Since there's more than just one or two flavors, it seemed like a good idea to pick several for a gift, lol. According to the recent menu, the 6-piece madeleine gift box is ₩30,000 and the 6-piece financier gift box is ₩28,000. Beyond the baked treats, there are also pastries like the cardamom bun, pain au chocolat, and pistachio croissant, so there's a wide range to choose from, haha. The cardamom bun in particular is quite a famous item at Remangdore, so I picked one that day, lol.

Coffee menu: how much is the coffee of the day?
The coffee menu has the basics: Americano, latte, flat white, cappuccino, vanilla latte, and more. At the time of my visit, the menu board listed the coffee of the day at ₩5,200, haha. The current online menu lists the coffee of the day at ₩5,500, so prices may vary depending on timing.

There are also some more unusual drinks, like an ice cream float, rooibos vanilla milk tea, and matcha oat latte. With so many drink options, it seemed easy to pick something that matches your dessert, lol.

Iced coffee of the day at Remangdore
We both ordered iced coffee that day. It came in a clear cup with deep amber coffee, and with the sunlight hitting it, the color looked really pretty, haha.

In photos it looks almost as clear as tea, but the aroma is actually quite distinct when you drink it. It's more suited to sipping slowly alongside bread than a heavy, intense style of coffee, lol. Since the pastries have a strong buttery flavor, sipping coffee in between cleaned my palate nicely, so the pairing worked well. It matched better with dessert than drinking the coffee on its own, haha.

Cardamom bun, 5,400 won
The first thing I tried was the cardamom bun. Remangdore's cardamom bun uses cardamom sugar and butter and is currently listed at ₩5,400. It's shaped in twisted round layers with a bit of coarse sugar on top, so it looks pretty good from the start, haha.
The outside is baked to a golden brown with a crisp texture, and going inward, the layers get a bit more moist. Above all, it has a different aroma from a regular cinnamon roll, and that's the charm of the cardamom bun, lol. At first I thought a spiced bread might have too strong a scent, but it wasn't as overwhelming as expected. The aroma rises subtly through the sweetness, so it went well with coffee, haha. If you normally like cinnamon-type aromas or spiced desserts, it's worth trying at least once.

Pain au chocolat at Remangdore
The pastry I chose alongside it also had a pretty striking look. The outer surface has thin layers stacked really tightly, so from the side you can see each layer clearly, haha.
For this type of pastry, how well the outside is baked really matters, and the surface was baked quite crisp. Cutting or biting into it, the way the thin layers crumbled apart felt great, lol. Going toward the center, the buttery pastry flavor gets a bit more intense, and with the chocolate added, it paired well with coffee too.

If you're picking just one sweet bread, it's a good pairing with coffee, haha. The cardamom bun stood out for its aroma, while the pain au chocolat was more about enjoying the crisp layers themselves. The two felt completely different, so ordering one of each and sharing turned out to be a good call, lol.

Is Remangdore worth it as a Seorae Village dessert café?
Remangdore Seorae Village Branch had an even better atmosphere in person than in photos, haha.

The white-and-burgundy interior is pretty, and the sunlight coming through the window made it a great spot to sit in the afternoon. Above all, the fact that it's not just a coffee-only café but has a fairly wide range of desserts — from croissants to cardamom buns, madeleines, and financiers — was a plus, lol. There are also plenty of products well suited for gift wrapping, so it seemed like a place worth stopping by again whenever picking up dessert in Seorae Village. The cardamom bun and pain au chocolat I had that day each had their own charm, and paired with coffee, it was quite a satisfying combination, haha.
If you're looking for a good-vibe bakery café in Seorae Village, or you love baked treats and pastries, Remangdore Seorae Village Branch is worth a visit. Next time I'll have to try the pistachio croissant or one of the madeleines I missed this time, lol.
