Hadong villa rental with 10pm night swimming and indoor barbecue

This is a story about Aruncoast Pool Villa, an atmospheric stay I found on a recent trip to Hadong 💚 I'd actually never been to Hadong before, and this was my first visit! There turned out to be more to see than I expected, and Aruncoast, where we stayed for one night, was so lovely that it really bumped up how much I enjoyed the whole trip haha.

First impressions of Aruncoast: evening arrival, palm trees and lights

Aruncoast Pool Villa is a whole-house pool villa on Balkkumi-gil in Jingyo-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam. We drove from Seoul so we arrived in the evening, and with the days getting shorter it got dark fast ㅠㅠ But the atmosphere was gorgeous right from the entrance ✨

Palm trees lined the path, and the floor lights and pool lights were sparkling — for a moment it genuinely felt like we'd flown to a Southeast Asian resort >_<

We even had a car full of luggage, but a staff member came out to greet us and loaded it up, carrying everything to the room for us 👍

What the Aruncoast shop sells, from cup noodles to daily necessities

Near the entrance there's also a reception and a small shop. It had a good variety — cup noodles, instant food, drinks, and even tissues and other simple daily necessities.

When you're traveling, sometimes you suddenly remember something you forgot, or get a late-night snack craving. It was really convenient to be able to just grab what you need without driving out anywhere haha.

The room buildings and the area around the outdoor pool were brightly lit, so even arriving late at night there was no dark, closed-in feeling — it was actually fun to walk around and look at everything.

Room layout: three floors of the villa all to yourself

The Aruncoast room is a whole-house setup spread across three floors. Opening the door leads you into the 2nd floor, with the 1st floor below and the 3rd floor above, so there was no need to divide up the space — it felt really spacious. Once we got inside, the place was much bigger than I expected.

The second-floor entrance and welcome fruit

Comparing the daytime and evening vibe haha. The space is large and each floor has its own living area, which seemed great for a family group or several people staying together.

On the living room table there was welcome fruit and drip coffee waiting for us. The basket had plenty of bananas and oranges, and all of them were fresh and sweet — you really should try them!!! haha

I thought it would just be a simple touch, but the fruit was tastier than expected and really stuck with me. The drip coffee was also nice to enjoy the next morning while looking out at the view.

What kitchen equipment does the villa have?

The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, water purifier, induction stove, and electric kettle, along with a good range of basic dishware and tools like cups, bowls, and scissors.

It was more than enough to heat up simple food or share takeout. With plenty of bowls and cups for several people, it seemed especially handy for a family trip.

What surprised me was that there's a bathroom on every single floor! With a bigger group, bathroom time in the morning or after swimming can easily overlap and get inconvenient, so having one on each floor made it so much easier. The bathrooms were neatly done. Just a note — towels are provided, but no personal amenities, so bring your own toothbrush, cleanser, shampoo, and so on.

Down on the 1st floor, wide windows show the outside scenery, and bright-colored sofas, rattan chairs, and wood accents work together for a comfortable, resort-like feel 💚 Some rooms even look out onto the water, so waking up to just that view felt healing 🥰

At night it felt cozy thanks to soft lighting, and the next morning, opening the curtains revealed the water and greenery all at once — a completely different mood.

The bedroom was done in calm beige and wood tones. A wide bed with clean white bedding was neatly made, and the soft lighting made it easy to relax. The 1st floor bedroom has both a single bed and a large bed, which seemed great for families with kids or a larger group.

The 1st floor also has its own private pool, set right in front of the bedroom in a long shape, so you can enjoy the water with your group without worrying about other guests seeing you — that was a real plus.

Every room comes with a private pool, and if you want to use it, you simply request it in advance when booking and pay the extra fee (₩100,000). The cost can vary depending on season or conditions, so it's worth checking before you book!

Third floor: a warning about the eco-friendly wallpaper

One note: the wallpaper is eco-friendly and has a somewhat rough texture, so families with babies or young children might want to keep that in mind.

Shared outdoor pool and night swimming until 10pm

Aruncoast's shared outdoor pool runs until 10pm. The night view was so pretty I couldn't just go to sleep... so I dropped off our bags and went back out to look around haha.

Palm trees, rattan parasols, and a long row of sun loungers line the pool — honestly, from photos alone it looks less like Korea and more like an overseas resort.

We visited in that late-summer-into-early-autumn window when Seoul was already pretty chilly, but Hadong wasn't as cold as I expected, even in the evening 😊 So of course we ended up getting in the water for a bit haha.

Since the outdoor pool runs until 10pm, we figured we'd hop in for a while and soak up the atmosphere haha. The night pool with lights reflecting off the water was beautiful,

but when I looked at the villa again the next day in daylight, it was so much brighter and lovelier in a completely different way. The blue sky peeking through the palm trees, the pool, and the waterside scenery all came together — just looking at it was calming.

The daytime view with the blue sky and water together was even more stunning. I kept telling my partner I wished this could be our house — it was hard to leave ㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋ

One night felt a bit short to fully enjoy the space, so if you want to take your time with the pool, barbecue, and exploring the area, I'd recommend staying two nights or more.

How much are the indoor barbecue and breakfast at Aruncoast?

The barbecue fee at Aruncoast is ₩50,000, and heading down past the pool there's an indoor barbecue area connected alongside the individual barbecue spots.

Each room has its own individual barbecue area for a private meal with your group, and if it's raining or you'd rather eat indoors, there's a spacious shared barbecue space in the basement.

Even the barbecue area had a great view — the big windows look out over the water, making it a nice spot for a group meal. The barbecue fee is ₩50,000, so be sure to check whether you'd like to add it when booking.

If preparing your own meal sounds like a hassle, the hotel chef also offers breakfast and dinner with advance reservation. Breakfast comes as a 6-side banchan (side dish) set with abalone porridge, priced at ₩30,000 for two — a solid option if you want to start the day with a hearty meal.

Is Aruncoast Pool Villa worth it? Final verdict

Spacious rooms across a whole three floors to yourselves, a bathroom on every level, both a private in-room pool and a shared outdoor pool, plus barbecue facilities — Aruncoast suits couples' trips just as well as family or group travel!
