Gin fizz at Columbus Lounge, a cocktail bar near Bupyeong Station
In short
Columbus Lounge is a sailing-themed cocktail bar on the 2nd floor at 20-4 Gyeongwon-daero 1403beon-gil, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, open daily from 18:00 to 06:00. The order ran from a classic gin fizz to the signature Cotton Candy in Wonderland and Hwayangyeonhwa, plus an oolong tea-based drink that is not on the menu, alongside truffle jjapaghetti (instant black bean noodles). Columbus Lounge pulls you in with flashy visuals, but the gin fizz and its plain good technique were the bigger surprise.

Inside the sailing-themed interior of this Bupyeong cocktail bar

True to the name Columbus, the whole concept is built around sailing and exploration — turns out the captain who made this space was actually a former sailor ❣️ So right from the entrance you get this thrilling feeling like you're boarding a pirate ship 😆

From the ship imagery on the walls to the lighting and plant decorations, it's a completely different vibe from a typical cocktail bar, so it's fun just to look around!!!

The space I sat in was built around a long bar table, dim lighting with neon colors popping in here and there, which made for pretty photos 💗 You can watch the bartending happen right in front of you, and as someone who loves cocktails, just watching that was entertaining haha. Great for sitting alone at the bar with a drink, or side by side on a date sipping cocktails ✨✨✨
Columbus Lounge menu lineup and the free popcorn

Looking at the menu, there's quite a variety of both signature and casual cocktails. If you don't know much about cocktails, it seems fine to just tell them the flavor you want or the liquor you usually like and get a recommendation!

Popcorn came out to snack on while waiting for the cocktails. It's the sweet kind, so easy to keep picking at!

Cocktail-making performance seen from the bar seats
Here, even the way the cocktails arrive felt like a performance. From drinks that appear amid billowing smoke to flashy displays using fire and lighting! They don't just bring you a finished glass — there's real fun in watching it happen right in front of you, so bar seating comes highly recommended 👍 If you're looking for a Bupyeong cocktail bar for a special occasion, this part alone is pretty appealing.

Also, the truffle jjapaghetti (black bean noodles) here is genuinely the best jjapaghetti of my life... nothing beats a splash of soju to go with it ✌️

Why the gin fizz was the best drink of the night
And the gin fizz 🍋 I really loved this day. Personally, I think it's actually harder to find a place that makes a gin fizz well, precisely because it's such a basic cocktail. Of all the gin fizzes I've had so far, this was the best. Clean and refreshing, with a really great balance of carbonation and smooth texture! (I don't even like the taste of gin, but I have to give it to this one!!)

Signature cocktails: Cotton Candy in Wonderland and Hwayangyeonhwa
If visuals matter to you, the signature cocktails are worth trying too. Alice's Cotton Candy has a cute name to match — it's a blue lemonade-style drink that's refreshing and tangy haha. The look is unique too, great for photos, and it seems like a good, easy pick for anyone who likes sweet cocktails.

And Hwayangyeonhwa (화양연화) is a cocktail centered on peach, layered with pomegranate, hibiscus, lychee, and raspberry. True to its name, it's a style where gorgeous aroma and fruit flavors build up layer by layer! Sweet peach and lychee with tart berries added on top made it fragrant and easy to drink 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Even the garnish on top of the glass was so elaborate that it photographed beautifully — my friend and I took a ton of pictures!

The off-menu oolong tea cocktail
Lastly, I tried the new oolong tea-based cocktail. A mysterious drink not on the menu! It was made by infusing oolong tea with other ingredients, and it had a completely different charm from the fruity, flashy cocktails I'd had before. It had a subtle tea aroma that was nice to slowly savor while drinking, and if you prefer something calmer over very sweet cocktails, this would suit your taste well 🫶🏻✨👍

At the very end, a little treasure chest even showed up! Truly faithful to the sailing concept from start to finish — I got to properly enjoy the whole world that Columbus Lounge has built.
Is Columbus Lounge worth a visit?
Columbus Lounge isn't just a place with a lot of cocktails — I got to enjoy everything from the fundamentals of a classic cocktail to the fun of flashy signature drinks. The gin fizz in particular really won me over. I went for the flashy visuals but ended up more surprised by how good the classic cocktail tasted, haha. If you want to drop anchor for a moment at the end of the day and enjoy a cocktail, come aboard Columbus Lounge. ⚓️🍸
