Jungok-dong gomtang restaurant with solo window seats: Dimideun Gunja
In short
Dimideun Gunja is a Korean gomtang (beef bone soup) and pork gukbap restaurant that recently opened near Gunja Station in Jungok-dong, Gwangjin, Seoul. Dining alone at the window solo-dining counter, the writer ordered the signature Dimideun gomtang in the regular size plus a sample suyuk (boiled sliced meat) plate, and both the beef and the pork were tender with no gamy smell. Gomtang and pork gukbap near Gunja Station A Jungok-dong Korean restaurant worth trying

Dimideun Gunja

What is Dimideun Gunja? A new gomtang restaurant near Gunja Station
I recently visited Dimideun, a newly opened Korean gukbap and gomtang restaurant near Gunja Station~ From the exterior, it already had a moody wood-tone vibe.

Inside Dimideun Gunja: the room and the solo-dining window seats
I went straight inside. It was full of customers when I first arrived, so I took this photo on my way out — it was clean and comfortable, a place where you could eat at a relaxed pace. There were plenty of tables for groups, and a nicely set up window seat zone for solo diners.
The counter had candy and interdental toothpicks ready to go. The menu board was also laid out neatly, but since it's basically QR-code ordering, it was more convenient to check the menu right at the table.

I didn't use it, but the women's restroom was located inside the restaurant. The window-seat atmosphere with all that light coming in was really nice.
There happened to be no one around, so I snapped a quick photo. The owner was kind and the food was delicious — a solid Korean restaurant near Gunja Station.

Since I was visiting alone this time, I sat right down at the window seat. They're open for both lunch and dinner, but there's a break time in between, so it's worth keeping that in mind when you visit.
They set out side dishes, utensils, and cold water as a basic starter. Napkins were on the table, and ordering was easy via QR code.

Ordering the Dimideun gomtang and the sample suyuk
Scanning the QR code brought up a variety of menu items with detailed photos and descriptions. Since this was my first visit, I went with the signature Dimideun gomtang. It's described as a very rich gomtang made by simmering Korean beef bones and leg bones for over 12 hours, with both beef and pork included. You could choose between regular and large sizes — I went with the regular size, and added a sample suyuk (boiled sliced meat) on top.

First, the dipping sauces for the sample suyuk arrived~

The sample suyuk comes with both pork and beef, and they explained it's best to dip each one in its matching sauce. Once I actually dipped it in the sauce, it really did taste even better~

Next, both the soup and the sample suyuk arrived together!

Once everything was laid out, it was a really generous spread.

Sample suyuk: just the right portion for eating alone
The sample suyuk comes with a little bit each of pork and beef, which turned out to be just the right amount for eating solo. Both meats were tender and had no gamy smell at all, and tasted great~

How does the rich, milky Dimideun gomtang taste?
Just looking at the gomtang, the rich, milky-white broth was already the star of the show.
It's the kind of hearty Korean restaurant that seems like it would draw plenty of regulars from the neighborhood.

It had been a while since I'd had gomtang, so I was even more excited to taste it.

If you're someone who loves rich gomtang or pork gukbap, this is a menu you'd enjoy even more.

I tried the sample suyuk first. As I mentioned, both the beef and pork were tender with no gamy smell, which I loved, and dipping it in the sauce made it even tastier.
The rice comes on the side separately, so you can either eat it on its own or add it straight into the gomtang to turn it into a rice soup.

The meat in the gomtang was also generous, tender, and free of any gamy smell, making it even more delicious. Overall, it's a rich, hearty gomtang and gukbap restaurant that's good to visit anytime for a meal. That wraps up my review of Dimideun, a great Jungok-dong spot near Gunja Station for lunch or dinner.
