Mangwon, Seoul bar for nachos and draft beer: Macho Nacho
In short
Macho Nacho (마초나초) is a Mexican bar near Mangwon Hangang Park in Mapo, Seoul. I had the signature nachos with draft beer and wasabi ice cream in its cozy late-night setting. Verdict: a satisfying stop for a casual beer after the park.

A great spot for a casual beer after Mangwon Hangang Park
After running at Mangwon Hangang Park, there are times when I just want one perfectly cold draft beer~~ I looked for somewhere with snacks that weren't too heavy and were easy to share! And there it was: Macho Nacho (마초나초), haha.
I visited Macho Nacho because I wanted a casual beer and tasty snacks in Mangwon-dong! I generally love Mexican food, so I went in with high expectations—and I was so happy with it. The nachos were more generous than I expected, and they went incredibly well with beer!! It is only a short walk from Hangang Park, and the neon sign makes it easy to spot from a distance. Even though I visited late in the evening, the atmosphere was lovely, with lots of couples on dates and groups of friends~~!

A cozy, casual atmosphere
From the entrance, a cute character and the “Macho Nacho” logo welcome you. It is a small place, but its cozy atmosphere really stood out. The tables were spaced nicely, so it was comfortable to eat, and the casual feel made it seem like an easy place to drop into without any pressure~!

It has an open kitchen too ><
A menu of nachos, sides, and wine
Looking through the menu, I found a variety of nachos, sides, and alcoholic drinks. There was also a separate wine list, and the country-of-origin information was neatly displayed on the wall, which gave me confidence.

How did we eat the signature nachos?
We ordered the signature nachos and draft beer! The nachos arrived not long after we ordered, and they looked far more generous than expected~~! Crispy tortilla chips were piled with plenty of cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, and onions, making them look delicious before we had even taken a bite!! Especially!! There was so much cheese that it stretched with every chip I picked up, making them even more fun to eat!

The owner said they taste best when crushed together, so!! I filmed a video of us crushing them, haha.
There were so many toppings that every bite had lots of texture. The bright tomato and lightly spicy jalapeño cut through the richness of the cheese really well. It was not overly intense, so we could enjoy it right to the end.
Draft beer and wasabi ice cream
The draft beer we ordered alongside it.

It came out nicely chilled and went so well with the nachos. After a bite of cheese-loaded nachos and a sip of cold beer, I understood why so many people love Mexican food with beer~~~! It would be great for a casual drink with friends, and it is also a pairing I would recommend for a date🫶🏻
The nachos alone were not enough for us, so we ordered the ice cream from the sides too~~~! Drumroll, please.

Ta-da!! They said the ice cream would take more than 10 minutes, and I did wonder, why?! But once I tasted it, I understood. First of all, I had never seen an ice cream-and-wasabi combination before, and it was so fresh! What should I call those black bits underneath…? Anyway, I do not know what they were, but they had this popping flavor, you know?!! It was exactly the kind of dessert I had in mind!!!!
The shop itself was not large, but that cozy atmosphere actually made it nice to linger. The staff were kind too, so we had a really pleasant meal😋😋😋 If you have been to Mangwon Hangang Park and are tired of heavy delivery food, or if you love Mexican food, I recommend visiting Macho Nacho! Nacho lovers will be especially satisfied, and it is a great place to enjoy them with draft beer🍀
