Long layered cut at Juno Hair, a Mapo Seoul hair salon
In short
Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch is a hair salon in Mapo, Seoul, near Hongik University Station. The long layered cut added natural layers and volume to hair that had felt heavy and flat, with thoughtful consultation in a calm setting. Verdict: a satisfying choice for keeping long hair while making it feel lighter.

The day I wanted to take some weight out of my long hair
Lately... long hair does look pretty, but if I neglect it even a little, it quickly starts to look heavy and suffocating. Mine was exactly at that point, so I wanted a change of mood and went looking for a Hongdae hair salon known for layered cuts. That led me to Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch. It is near Hongik University Station, so it is easy to get to, and the salon was so polished that the moment I walked in, I thought, “Oh, there is a reason this place is so well known.”

Getting to Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch
This was the sign I saw from outside when I first arrived. The building exterior was neat and easy to spot, so I do not think first-time visitors would have trouble finding it.

The entrance is through the Magellan 21 Officetel building, like this.

A closer look shows the Juno Hair 2F sign, which made it much easier to find. Hongdae can be such a busy area, so having a clear route like this is more important than you might think.

A calm, unhurried salon atmosphere
This was the wall I saw as soon as I entered. The words “Welcome to JUNO HAIR” immediately made the first impression feel polished, upscale, and organized.

The entrance area is so pretty too, right? The brick-toned interior and warm lighting made even the waiting area feel open and comfortable.

Further inside was a café-like space, and the lighting was wonderfully atmospheric. Hair salons can sometimes feel hectic, but this one felt calm and spacious overall, which I loved.

There was a shampoo locker area on one side, and the reception area was neatly arranged too. Everything felt systematically run, which gave me confidence even though it was my first visit.

The lockers were neatly organized as well. They made it easy to store personal belongings, including a bag or outerwear.

This is the corridor leading to the styling area. The arched structure and soft lighting gave it a bit of a hotel-lounge feel. I think anyone who likes this kind of atmosphere would be pleased.

This is the main styling area. There was plenty of space between the mirrors and chairs, and the room felt open and comfortable. Among salons around Hongdae, I thought this one deserved a place on a Hongik University Station hair salon recommendation list for its sense of space alone.

This was the seat I especially loved! The bookshelf and lighting came together to create such a lovely, atmospheric mood. It was a hair salon, but it almost felt like one of those places made for photos, haha.

Up close, this was the mood. The mirror-frame lighting made it much easier to see the condition of my hair and the shape of the curls.

The shampoo room also had a relaxing atmosphere. Its dark tones felt grounding, so shampoo time felt even more like a chance to rest.

Consultation for a natural long layered cut
I could look at a color chart during the consultation, too.

This time, I said that I wanted layers that would make my hair feel soft and natural overall, without looking too heavy.

The stylist understood the look I wanted and explained everything carefully, which I appreciated. This is the view from the back after the service.

A finished look with the weight neatly taken out
The added layers definitely made my long hair look much lighter and more refined. It was exactly the kind of layered cut I wanted from a Hongdae hair salon! From the side, the ends fell naturally and had volume without being overdone. It kept the feminine feel while taking away that stifling heaviness, so I was very happy with it.

They also brought me a drink and some light refreshments during the appointment. These little services make you feel good, you know? ^^ They made the long time in the chair a little less tiring.

Even the locker key had this lovely design. It felt like they had paid attention to the small details!

There was Wi-Fi information ready too, so anyone who needs it can connect right away. Looking again at the overall finish, I really loved how the layers came through naturally while still looking smooth and tidy rather than frizzy.
A layered cut can sometimes end up looking too wispy, but the ends here were finished neatly, giving it a refined and feminine result.
They also gave me the stylist's business card. It will be handy when I visit again, and when you get a style you love, it is nice to remember the stylist who did it.

I even took a mirror selfie after the appointment. It was one of those rare days after getting my hair done when I thought, “Ah, I really did well today,” haha. It looked naturally pretty—done up without looking overly done—and that made me even happier!
If, like me, you want to keep your long hair but have been concerned that it feels heavy and plain, I think you would be really pleased with this visit. The overall atmosphere was lovely, the consultation was detailed, and the result was natural, so personally, I found it a very satisfying visit.
