Suyeong bar with 0.9 mm Sapporo draft beer: Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2
In short
Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is a Sapporo collaboration standing bar in Suyeong, Busan, about a 3-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. I tried the ₩26,900 tebasaki set with two Sapporo draft beers, plus the sesame-dressed cabbage. Verdict: a great spot for a casual beer if you love Sapporo.

Ganppa Beer, an official Sapporo collaboration bar in Gwangalli with delicious beer
I recently visited the super-hot Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 (간빠맥주 광안2호점), a bar in Busan's Gwangalli!

Ganppa Beer is an official collaboration venue with the Japanese beer brand Sapporo! In Busan, this franchise can only be found in Seomyeon and Gwangalli.
It's on the main road that runs straight down from Gwang-an Station. It's about a 3-minute walk from the beach, so it's a great location to stop by after enjoying the sea!

From meal-sized dishes to simple bites, every snack sounded perfect with beer, so it was hard to choose haha. We went with the tebasaki set!
Why Ganppa Beer's draft beer tastes so good

In one corner of the shop, there was a refrigerator for draft-beer kegs, set up like a huge display case! The menu happened to explain why Ganppa Beer's draft beer is so good. They say the kegs are refrigerated in this big fridge for at least two days to stabilize them!
They also maintain the best flavor with 0.9 mm-thick thin glasses—said to be used only by Ganppa Beer in Korea—new kegs, dedicated pre-rinsing, and more. Even among Gwangalli bars, this feels like a place that is seriously devoted to beer!
Inside Ganppa Beer, a standing bar

The interior uses deep-toned wood throughout, from the walls and floor to the tables! The lighting is fairly bright, so it doesn't feel dark, and every table is standing-bar style, meaning you eat while standing?! It's a great atmosphere for a quick beer.

Ganppa Beer in Gwangalli also had fun events like this haha. Even the poster really captures Ganppa Beer's vibe.
How the official-collaboration Sapporo draft beer tasted

After ordering and waiting at our table, the Sapporo draft beer arrived first.

It was poured at the golden ratio of eight parts beer to two parts foam. The 0.9 mm glass was seriously thin.

The foam was so dense, with such fine bubbles! It felt soft, almost like whipped cream.

It tasted exactly like fresh draft beer! Compared with regular draft beer, it had that clean, nutty Sapporo character, followed by a slight bitterness at the finish!! If you like Japanese lager, I think this will be right up your alley haha. I recommend Ganppa Beer in Gwangalli to beer lovers!
Crispy tebasaki fried whole with the drumette attached

When we were about halfway through our beers, Ganppa Beer's special tebasaki arrived too. The tebasaki (Japanese-style chicken wings) were unusually served with the drumettes still attached, and their crisp, rich flavor just calls for beer haha.

I also really enjoyed this cabbage! The nutty, savory sesame sauce went so well with the cabbage's crisp sweetness.

I'm really curious about the recipe for this cabbage sauce haha.
One-line review of Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2

A Gwangalli bar that's great for a light drink at a standing bar. If you love Sapporo beer, you should visit at least once!
