Right between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station, in the middle of a busy downtown stretch, I found a large space with great vibes, serious scale, and some truly special desserts.

The most unique and appealing thing about Selected Nicks is that every floor of the building is decorated with a completely different concept. Exploring each floor is genuinely fun.

The 1st-floor dessert lineup and European royal chocolate

The moment I stepped onto the 1st floor, the upscale dessert lineup caught my eye right away.

The 1st floor even sells premium luxury chocolates said to be enjoyed by European royal families, clearly aimed at gift-givers and dessert enthusiasts alike.

The study/work floor and the rooftop up top

Head up to another floor and you'll find a calm, well-organized study and work space, perfectly suited for laptop use or focused studying.

And going all the way up to the top floor of the building opens onto a rooftop space with sweeping open views of downtown Gangnam. On a nice day, sipping a coffee up there with the breeze was a truly fantastic way to relax.

The tiramisu varieties and what I ordered

True to its reputation as one of Gangnam's top tiramisu spots, the dessert case here is absolutely packed with a huge variety of tiramisu flavors.

From the classic original to creative versions with fruit and nuts added, the lineup makes choosing a happy struggle. Among them, I ordered the signature pistachio tiramisu, the most popular for its nutty flavor, along with a refreshing iced americano to go with it.

How did the pistachio tiramisu taste?

The pistachio tiramisu arrived shortly after, and just visually it was overflowing with a sense of luxury.

A large bowl was packed full of firm yet soft cream, topped with crushed pistachio bits and more cream — it made my mouth water just looking at it.

The moment I scooped up a big spoonful, the coffee-soaked moist sponge, the soft and rich mascarpone cream, and pistachio's distinctive nutty, faintly sharp flavor came together beautifully.

The crunchy texture of the pistachio bits with every bite gave it a depth of nuttiness incomparable to ordinary tiramisu. It wasn't overly sweet, letting the deep, rich flavor and softness of the ingredients themselves shine, so I enjoyed it without getting tired of it, right down to the last spoonful.

The iced americano I paired with it also had a clean, well-balanced flavor of acidity and nuttiness, lifting the sweet, soft flavor of the pistachio tiramisu and helping bring it to a clean finish.

The pairing of dessert and coffee was perfect — between bites of tiramisu and sips of americano, I emptied the bowl in no time.
