I've been keeping a bob lately, but my hair felt like it had grown to an awkward in-between length, so I went to Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo for a cut.

I had an appointment with designer Jisoo, and it's super close to Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so it was really convenient to get to by public transit. Basically right on top of the station... haha.

The salon is on the 2nd floor, and the moment I stepped in I loved how much more spacious and pleasant it felt than I expected.

Biorn Hair has a spacious, comfortable atmosphere with a white color mood. There were plenty of staff and they greeted me warmly right when I walked in, so the first impression was great.

The salon has a bright, airy vibe with really good natural light coming in, so photos turned out pretty too. The whole place feels studio-like, so it's a great hair salon for taking selfies afterward, haha.

Right after I arrived, a staff member quickly brought me a cold coffee, and the americano here is actually really good? Haha. Total americano hotspot!!

Before the cut: an awkward grown-out mid-length bob with heavy curl

First, here's what my hair looked like before the cut. The reason I came in today was that awkward in-between length.

Before the cut it had a mid-length bob feel, but the length fell at an awkward point, looking a bit stuffy and overall messy, and it wasn't easy to manage either.

On top of that, my hair was quite damaged and dry, which made it look even messier. I probably need a clinic treatment soon too... Right now my hair kept flipping off to one direction on its own, making it hard to style, which was stressing me out. So I told designer Jisoo I wanted a clean, neat cut this time, and she carefully checked the length before starting.

First there was a refreshing shampoo before the cut, with a nice scalp massage and a thorough treatment worked in. After the shampoo, the actual cut began — since my hair is quite severely curly, she first used a flat iron to straighten it completely so she could measure the length accurately, then evened out the overall length. I could really feel how meticulous the cutting process was.

I told her the length and look I wanted, and she reflected my preferences as much as possible while shaping it.

Before, the length fell at an awkward, stuffy-looking point, but after tidying up the length into a tassel-cut blunt bob, it had a clean, polished feel.

It wasn't an overly dramatic style change either — it felt like she shaped it to fall nicely with my current hair, which made me like it even more.

After the cut was done, she even recommended what style I might try next time, which was an especially nice touch!

In the end, I was happy with the cut and satisfied to be able to switch up my look to something clean and polished.
