Before eating out in Gangnam, I spend forever scrolling blogs. But once the meal's done and it's time for coffee, it's always Starbucks or Paul Bassett, or Dunkin' when I'm feeling adventurous.
On weekends I go hunting for big, spacious cafés all over the city — but somehow it never occurred to me to look in Gangnam. Not even once.
A big café? In Gangnam? Really?? REALLY!!!!!
What kind of café is Selected Nicks? Basement 1 up to the rooftop
Selected Nicks uses basement 1, 1F, 2F, 3F, 8F, and the rooftop, all as café space. A large-scale café like this near Gangnam Station is genuinely rare.
They also seem to do a lot of space rentals, since I saw plenty of groups using the place.
Right before the entrance there's this pretty display,
and these gorgeous boxes decorating the space.
It's a dessert café built around tiramisu as its main item.
Kind of gives Charlie and the Chocolate Factory vibes.

When the gift packaging looks this good, you get that urge to eat one and take one home to give away!!
They also have set menus like this, but today I just wanted sweet, soft tiramisu, so I decided to keep it simple with just tiramisu.
How do the Selected Nicks rooftop, 8th floor and 1st-floor outdoor seats feel?
We got our mango juice, Earl Grey latte, and choco banana tiramisu, and headed straight up to the rooftop.
Wow... every seat was taken, but I could tell just how good this space is, thinking "Ah! Next time I'm coming early to claim a spot here!" before heading back down.
On to the 8th floor,
which is basically a study café — everyone had a laptop and a tiramisu tray on their table, like they'd all agreed on it, working quietly in a calm atmosphere. Quickly moved on downstairs...!
The 1st floor space is outdoor tables, and since the weather was nice, the competition here was fierce too. But no worries, since the other floors had plenty of room.
Basement 1 and the 2nd floor: exhibition and pop-up space

Paintings hang on the walls throughout the space — only the rooftop and 1F were that crowded, while the inside floors felt genuinely relaxed.
The basement runs pop-up stores and exhibitions, and also does space rentals. This is exactly why you go to a big Gangnam Station café... so much room to breathe.
Now onto 2F and 3F. 2F is
set up with an art exhibition space too, and it gave off a free-spirited feel. Looking at artwork while sipping coffee in the same space... kind of felt like a little cultural outing?!

The price isn't expensive either, and honestly — office workers nearby, please hold your meetings here instead of in a boring meeting room. I can't pull off a cool meeting myself, but I really hope someone else does.............
We settled onto the 3rd floor and finally sat down! There's just so much to see at this Gangnam Station big café, Selected Nicks — after touring everything and finally sitting, an involuntary 'ahh, ahh, ahh' came out of me.
How did the mango juice and Earl Grey latte taste?
The mango juice is extremely sweet. Just extremely sweet, and sweet. Kind of like Delmonte mango juice with real mango flesh dropped on top. Not a bad taste, but so sweet that only people who like sugary drinks will love it.
The Earl Grey latte — the first sip made me go "huh??" and tilt my head, but you absolutely have to stir it before drinking. Once stirred, it turns into a fragrant Earl Grey latte with just the right aroma and smoothness filling your mouth~~ Total recommend on the Earl Grey latte!
Choco banana tiramisu, the café's signature dessert
Finally, Selected Nicks' signature kick — the tiramisu. I'm not even a big banana fan, but the choco + banana combo is unbelievable!
The moment I scooped it up, it was so soft yet thick and dense, with the flavor combo landing exactly right.
With just the right amount of cocoa powder dusted on top, eating this sweet tiramisu with a sip of Earl Grey latte is such a perfect dessert combo.
Selected Nicks, the big café near Gangnam Station. Tucked inside an alley so it might be easy to miss, but once you see it, you'll want to come back a second and third time.
