Fig pistachio salt bread at a Byeollae bakery: Byway Bakers
In short
Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch is a salt bread bakery near Byeollae Byeolgaram Station in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The new seasonal fig pistachio salt bread costs 7,400 won, the blueberry wakku salt bread 8,500 won and the castella salt bread 4,100 won, all bought for takeout. The pistachio cream and fresh fig balanced beautifully, and the Byeollae branch's salt came through unusually salty — a textbook sweet-and-salty bake.

How does the fig pistachio salt bread taste?
First up, a proper taste of the new fig pistachio salt bread. The pistachio cream filling wasn't artificially sweet at all — the rich, nutty flavor of the actual nut came through fully.

The fresh fig has a soft bite that pairs so well with the pistachio cream. The salt bread itself is chewy and salty and just so good, ㅠㅠ. The balance between ingredients is great, making it the perfect pick when you want to try something a little different — a top recommendation among Byeollae's salt bread spots.

Castella salt bread: main branch vs. Byeollae branch
The castella salt bread (₩4,100) was my personal favorite at the main branch. It's a knockout menu where the soft castella powder on the outside, the cool cream, and the buttery base all come together.

Each branch seems to have its own subtle charm. The Byeollae branch's salt bread has a noticeably salty crunch, making it a textbook example of sweet-and-salty. As expected, it doesn't disappoint — a solid pick for salt bread in Byeollae.

Blueberry wakku salt bread: better than the peach version?
The blueberry wakku salt bread (₩8,500) has a crisp white chocolate coating that shatters, revealing a tangy-sweet blueberry jam layered with plump fresh blueberries that pop as you bite. The combo of white chocolate and blueberry is such a perfect match that, personally, it's much more my style than the peach version I had last time! Two thumbs up for this Byeollae salt bread recommendation.

Another perfectly successful bakery tour today! I'll be back again to raid the salt bread. Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch, thanks for the meal 🧡
