Today I visited Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch, a café near Dongchon Resort, with my parents.

Parking and first impressions at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch on a weekday afternoon

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch has a wide parking area right in front of and around the café, which made it easy to visit by car. Since I went on a weekday afternoon, the parking spaces around the café were very quiet, and the inside of the store wasn't too crowded either, so we could relax comfortably.

Opening the door, we were greeted by the warm, cozy wood interior typical of Hands Coffee. The store is large overall with high ceilings, so there was no sense of being cramped at all. The tables were spaced widely too, making it the perfect spot to sit and chat comfortably with my parents. We left our bags at a window seat with a good view and headed to the counter to order.

After slowly looking over the menu, we ordered two iced long blacks, one of the café's signature drinks, the vanilla brûlée latte, and for dessert, a granola peanut cream waffle.

After ordering, we looked around the store. This Dongchon Resort café, Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch, uses the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the building.

Each floor has slightly different interiors and seating layouts, so it was fun to walk around. I especially liked the 4th floor floor-seating area with a full view outside the window. I wanted to suggest to my parents that we move up there, but since they were already comfortably seated on the 2nd floor, we didn't end up moving.

How the iced long black and vanilla brûlée latte taste

After a short wait, the buzzer went off and our drinks and dessert came out together. First, the iced long black that my dad and I ordered came in a clean, neat glass. Taking a sip, I could taste the nutty flavor of the beans and a good body, with a bitterness that cleanly finished off the palate. The acidity wasn't too strong and the flavor was well balanced, making it an easy coffee for anyone to enjoy.

After lightly cracking the crisp sugar coating on top and drinking the latte together with the sweet cream, she said she liked the crunchy outside and soft inside texture. It was the perfect drink to enjoy as a pick-me-up on a drowsy afternoon.

The granola peanut cream waffle we ordered came out freshly baked, giving off a nutty aroma. On top of the thick, generous waffle pieces was a generous helping of nutty, creamy peanut cream, and over that, a generous scattering of crunchy granola. The harmony of the crisp-outside, moist-inside waffle texture, the granola that burst with nuttiness the more you chewed, and the sweet-salty peanut cream was truly fantastic. The portion was also generous enough for the three of us to share without any shortage, and paired with the bitter iced long black, we could enjoy it all the way through without getting tired of it.
