You know that moment when you're shopping or meeting someone in Yeouido and suddenly crave tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), sundae (blood sausage), or fried snacks! This time I visited Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, which I found inside IFC Mall 🤍 Hyeonseonine is a tteokbokki restaurant well known for its flagship branch near Yongsan, and it also runs a directly operated branch here in Yeouido's IFC Mall! I heard it settled into its current spot after a renewal opening in November 2024 ✨
Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch and how do you get there?
📍 Hyeonseonine Premium is located at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, in the L2 street shops of IFC Mall. Using the underground passage from Yeouido Station toward IFC Mall is nice because you can move comfortably even on hot or cold days. It's also a great spot for a simple meal while shopping at IFC Mall 🛍️
Instant tteokbokki for two: how spicy is it and how is the sauce?
Here's the instant tteokbokki for two that I ordered! Hyeonseonine's tteokbokki is known for its spicy-sweet sauce and chewy rice cakes 🌶️ (so good). Personally, I think the sauce is what really matters for tteokbokki, and this sweet-and-spicy sauce soaked nicely into the rice cakes, making it great for dipping sundae or fried snacks too!!!!
You can choose from mild, medium, or spicy depending on your taste, so it seems fine to visit even with someone who can't handle spicy food well. That said, spice tolerance varies by person, so if you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend starting with the milder option 😂
When you order tteokbokki, they also give you eomuk (fish cake) broth! The peppery, savory flavor is amazing..💗

Who is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall best for?
🍢 Recommended for these kinds of visitors!
If it's your first visit, I'd recommend the combo of instant tteokbokki plus fried dumplings (yaki-mandu) 👍🏻 Adding sundae, mini gimbap, or fried snacks on top would be great too.
If you're going solo, the Baby Set works well, and if you're with a group, I'd recommend the Hyeonseoni Set or Hyeonseoni Combo Set! Since you can try several snack menu items at once, it also makes deciding easier when there's a group of you!!!
Why the instant tteokbokki tastes best after simmering longer
To cut to the chase, the instant tteokbokki is delicious!! 😋 There's just something about tteokbokki bubbling away right at the table. As it simmered, the sauce got richer and richer, and the smell alone made me want to dig in fast 🤤
The rice cakes were chewy and the sauce was sweet and spicy in a way that kept me reaching for more.. heart. Especially with instant tteokbokki, it tastes even better after simmering a bit longer than at first! Once the sauce really soaks into the rice cakes, the flavor deepens, so anyone who loves instant tteokbokki should be pretty satisfied 🥹
