Gongdeok café picking 5 madeleine flavors to go: Fluffy Bake Shop

In short

Fluffy Bake Shop is a baked-goods café in Mapo, Seoul, right next to Gongdeok Station, inside the Gongdeok SK Leaders View commercial building. On this visit, the writer picked a Nunettine financier and five madeleine flavors — hwangchi cheese, carrot, plain, Nutella, and chocolate — from a case that also holds canelés, salt bread, and the gamtae (roasted seaweed) financier featured on the show 'Amazing Saturday,' though that one wasn't available to pack that day. With so many madeleine flavors on offer, it's a great spot to mix and match for sharing or gifting.

Finding it from Gongdeok Station

I was looking for good desserts near Gongdeok Station and ended up at Fluffy Bake Shop :) It's inside the Gongdeok SK Leaders View building, so it's easy to find from the station! It's a small bakeshop, but it has such a wide range of baked goods — madeleines, financiers, canelés!!

You can also eat in-store

There are clean tables set up inside so you can enjoy pastries with coffee 〰️ The sunlight comes in so beautifully — it'd be lovely to have a coffee and a pastry here on a relaxed afternoon.

I fell for the canelés — turns out other reviewers say they're really good too!!??

So many madeleine flavors

I've never seen a place with this many madeleine flavors before... I've seen places with lots of financier flavors, but if my daughter had come with me my wallet would've been wiped out haha.

The savory smell of the salt bread was wafting out too, and I really wanted to eat it.

The gamtae financier from 'Amazing Saturday'

And you can't talk about Fluffy Bake Shop without mentioning the gamtae (roasted seaweed) financier! I couldn't pack one on my visit, but since it's the item featured on the variety show 'Amazing Saturday,' I was even more curious about it. The salty, savory flavor unique to gamtae apparently pairs really well with the financier, making it a popular pick especially for people looking for something a bit different from a regular financier hahaha!

The hwangchi cheese madeleine and carrot madeleine were so cute. There was no way I could not buy them haha.

As a financier lover, I ate one when I got home and immediately regretted not buying more...

The 6 I picked this time

What should I pick... I wanted to just sweep up everything here haha. After much thought!!!!

  • Nunettine financier
  • Hwangchi cheese madeleine
  • Carrot madeleine
  • Plain madeleine
  • Nutella madeleine
  • Chocolate madeleine

That's what I picked and packed 🎉

They use AOP butter, apparently

Fluffy Bake Shop's baked goods reportedly use Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter. If you care about butter flavor, you know that's a key point, right? Especially for pastries like financiers and madeleines where butter flavor really matters, I found myself paying attention to what kind of butter they use!

The 'Neighborhood Sharing Store' plaque

And walking in, I noticed a 'Neighborhood Sharing Store' (우리동네나눔가게) plaque, which stood out. It means the store practices giving back to those in need in the community, so it felt warm to see this wasn't just a place selling delicious desserts but also a place involved with the local community.

Good for gift packaging too

If you like madeleines or financiers, I'd recommend packing several kinds to share rather than just picking one or two! The packaging is neat and clean, so it also seemed like a good option if you're looking for a dessert gift in Gongdeok.

My daughter loves madeleines — she'll be so happy when she sees these ❤️

If you're near Gongdeok Station looking for a dessert to enjoy with coffee, I'd recommend Fluffy Bake Shop. You can sit and enjoy it in-store or pack it to go, so it's easy to drop by casually 💙 If you're looking for a café near Gongdeok Station, a dessert spot in Gongdeok, or even a date-course stop in Gongdeok, it's a great place to swing by if you like baked goods :)
