Omil Hongdae's location — how close is it to Hongik University Station?

Omil is located on the Hongdae side that's easy to find from Hongik University Station. It's not far off the main Hongdae street, so it's a good spot to stop by for a meal after shopping or a date in Hongdae, haha.

I went on a date with my husband in Hongdae after a while and ate something delicious :) The place we visited that day was Omil, where you can enjoy both pasta and omurice in Hongdae!!! When looking for places to eat around Hongdae, there are a lot of spots with great atmosphere but intimidating prices — but here the menu lineup is solid and the prices are relatively reasonable, so it should be a good reference if you're looking for a Hongdae pasta spot ❤️

Customers kept coming even at 3pm — waitlist runs through Catch Table

We visited around 3pm, well past the lunch peak, so I thought we'd be able to eat leisurely — but way more customers kept coming into the restaurant than I expected!?? Is this place a hot spot!!

There's also a Catch Table kiosk near the entrance, which looks super convenient for the waitlist. It seems handy that if you have plans in Hongdae or come for brunch and it's crowded, you can just use the Catch Table system, hahaha.

The restaurant's atmosphere

Walking inside, it was clean and comfortable overall — not too dark or overly formal like a fancy restaurant, but more like a place for a casual meal on a date in Hongdae, which I liked 💙

Chulng Chulng Chulng rubber duck omurice

The Chulng Chulng Chulng rubber duck omurice! Cute name, cute visuals too, so of course you have to take a photo, right? The omurice (omelette rice) has soft egg that blends beautifully with the sauce. So glad we ordered it,, Especially compared to just ordering the pasta dishes you commonly see in Hongdae, adding this cute omurice made the table so much more fun!! They said we could take the tube-shaped rubber duck next to it home after the meal, ㅜㅜ what a thoughtful touch,, gotta give it to my little one hahaha.

Spicy pollack roe pasta

The spicy pollack roe pasta was, exactly as the name says, spicy with the salty savoriness of pollack roe added, and it really grabbed our appetite. If you don't like pasta that feels too rich, it's good to have one spicy option like this on the menu!

Spicy seafood pasta

We also ordered the spicy seafood pasta, and the combination of seafood and spicy sauce was tasty as expected. We ordered two kinds of pasta, and since the flavor directions were slightly different, alternating between them kept things interesting and we scraped both plates clean, hahaha.

Omurice and pasta at once

Personally, I felt that one of Omil's strengths is being able to eat omurice and pasta at once..! Good to visit on a day when just one dish feels like not enough, or when you want to share several dishes, right?

It was so delicious that the two of us cleared all three dishes completely.

Water and pickles are at the self-bar, and phone charging is available too :)

From the cute rubber duck omurice to the spicy pollack roe pasta and spicy seafood pasta, Omil was fun for choosing between menu options and also good for a relaxed meal like brunch!!
