Cheonho Korean restaurant: spicy octopus & butter fried rice—Jjuksami
In short
Jjuksami Cheonho Main Branch is a spicy webfoot octopus restaurant in Gangdong, Seoul. My husband and I had webfoot octopus and pork belly, complimentary spaghetti noodles, and flying-fish-roe fried rice, and loved the not-too-sweet sauce and generous sides. Verdict: a great pick for dinner or drinks in Cheonho Octopus Alley.

Atmosphere and visitor information
Jjuksami Cheonho Main Branch is a great webfoot octopus spot with the atmosphere of a long-running local restaurant—just right for a casual dinner or drinks! It is especially lovely to visit in a season like this!

Jjuksami is one of the restaurants in Cheonho-dong Octopus Alley, and I heard it has been operating since 2006! Competition among the alley's restaurants is fierce, so I was even more excited knowing it has held its place for 20 years!
The menu is very simple: webfoot octopus + pork belly, webfoot octopus + shrimp, webfoot octopus + pork belly + shrimp, and add-ons! The Rich Gold cheese platter, served with cheese and sweet-potato mousse, is Jjuksami Cheonho Main Branch's signature dish. Spicy webfoot octopus, cheese, and sweet potato sound like such a perfect match!
I wanted to try the Rich Gold platter, but my husband and I do not eat huge portions, so we ordered webfoot octopus + pork belly, planning to add fried rice afterward!

Generous side dishes served with the webfoot octopus
There are perilla-leaf wraps and pickled radish wraps as standard~ They go so well with webfoot octopus~ Carrot and cucumber are hiding beneath the perilla leaves too!

Jjuksami's side dishes include steamed egg, corn cheese, bean sprouts, and scorched rice~~ Restaurants in Cheonho-dong Octopus Alley tend to have special side dishes, and I was so happy with Jjuksami's generous spread! I soothed my stomach with scorched rice before the spicy octopus, then cooled my spicy mouth with steamed egg and corn cheese in between bites!

Webfoot octopus and pork belly that was not overly sweet
The webfoot octopus + pork belly arrived looking so delicious, complete with enoki mushrooms. Cheonho's webfoot octopus is perfect with drinks too, so I asked my husband—but he was not feeling well, so we skipped alcohol haha.
Unlike at other webfoot-octopus restaurants, I loved that Jjuksami Cheonho Main Branch's seasoning was not too sweet! So many seasonings are overly sweet when dining out these days, but Jjuksami's was just the right balance of spicy and sweet for my taste!
Just leave the webfoot octopus alone and a staff member will come stir-fry it nicely for you haha. I am impatient, so I kept poking around in it, but if you wait, the staff take care of it all and you can simply enjoy your meal!

After having one wrap with bean sprouts and another dipped in mayonnaise, the webfoot octopus just kept disappearing!!

Complimentary noodles and butter flying-fish-roe fried rice
When you order webfoot octopus at Jjuksami Cheonho Main Branch, you get either spaghetti noodles or glass noodles for free!! We picked spaghetti noodles! Add them to the leftover webfoot octopus and voilà—spicy, punchy spaghetti!

Fried rice, the Korean dessert! I considered cheese fried rice, but we were comfortably full, so we chose flying-fish-roe fried rice instead~ When I saw how much roe there was, I thought choosing it had been such a good call~~
They melt butter before adding the fried-rice ingredients, and I was so excited—adding butter to fried rice that is already delicious!!

My husband and I enthusiastically scraped up the fried rice as our dessert? haha. Fried rice really is a combination you can always trust~~ If you are looking for a great restaurant in Cheonho Octopus Alley, Jjuksami!! I recommend it :))
