Godeok Station Japanese restaurant for cheese katsu: Myeon Sikdang
In short
Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch is a Japanese restaurant near Godeok Station in Gangdong, Seoul. My friend and I shared the 15,400 won mozzarella cheese katsu and mini cold soba set, plus the 16,400 won karaage curry rice bowl set. Verdict: Order a set if you want to try a few dishes, especially the crispy cheese katsu.

While looking for somewhere to eat near Godeok Station, I visited the newly opened Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch (면식당 고덕역점). Maybe because it has not been open long, but the whole place was so clean and neat ✨ And everything we tried that day was seriously delicious, so I left very satisfied!!! The set portions were huge too—we ate until we were bursting. The mozzarella cheese katsu was my favorite here. Cheese lovers, you have to try this one haha.

A clean dining room and counter seats for solo diners

What I liked most was how clean the restaurant was! As you can see in the photos, it is spacious and spotless, which just makes it feel nice to be there. Since it has not been open long, everything felt very clean and well looked after. It would be nice for a date too. The food was all tasty, and there are plenty of menu options, so I thought it would be a good place when you are craving tonkatsu or a rice bowl.

There are counter seats for solo diners too haha. No one sitting across from you—good stuff,,

The soup broth was rich and delicious! Kimchi, pickled radish, soup broth, and water are self-service, and steamed rice is free!!! Getting extra rice free of charge is the best.

The soup broth also had lots of different ingredients in it, so it was generous. After ordering drinks at the kiosk, you pick them up yourself!
Set meals shared with a friend

I visited with a friend that day, and although there were only two of us, we wanted to try a variety of things, so we mainly ordered set meals.
- Mozzarella cheese katsu + mini cold soba set ₩15,400
- Karaage rice bowl + mozzarella cheese katsu set ₩16,400
- Cola ₩2,500
We shared everything, and I think we made such good menu choices haha. We wanted tonkatsu, curry rice bowl, and refreshing cold soba too, and ordering sets meant we could taste a bit of everything!
My top recommendation: mozzarella cheese katsu

And the dish I most want to recommend!! Mozzarella cheese katsu!!! Personally, it was the tastiest thing I had here. The tonkatsu itself is good, but of course it cannot possibly be bad with cheese inside,, The crispy fried cutlet and soft cheese work together beautifully—it is nutty and delicious. If you like cheese katsu, I think you will definitely be happy with it! Even if I come back, I would order the mozzarella cheese katsu again. It is close to my home, so I think I will be stopping by often~
A combination with mini cold soba
I also tried the mini cold soba that came with the mozzarella cheese katsu. When the tonkatsu starts to feel a little rich, a bite of cold, clean-tasting soba is just perfect. Rather than eating only tonkatsu the whole time, having them together as a set made it much less heavy and delicious right to the end. Tonkatsu plus cold soba is always such a good combo.
A filling karaage curry rice bowl set

The other thing we ordered was the karaage curry rice bowl plus mozzarella cheese katsu set, ₩16,400! The karaage rice bowl was tasty too. Having fried chicken with rice was filling, and it felt different from the tonkatsu, so it was great for sharing several dishes. Having only one dish would have felt like a shame, but ordering this way let us taste all sorts of things :) I usually love curry and always finish every last bit, but the portion here was so big that I left a little.ㅠㅠ
Final thoughts on Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch

Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch has only recently opened! The restaurant was clean and the food was all delicious, so I had a very satisfying meal. Every dish we ordered that day was good, so I think our menu choices were a success too haha. But the mozzarella cheese katsu was definitely the one that stayed with me most!! The karaage curry rice bowl was crispy, filling, and tasty too! If you are looking for tonkatsu or a rice bowl near Godeok Station, I recommend Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch :)
