Today I’m back with my honest review of Orot Silbi (오롯실비), a Japanese pub near Gongdeok Station known for its softly lit atmosphere and beautifully presented, high-quality dishes 😵💫🧡 With its modern yet calm interior, it’s super popular for dates, blind dates, and small gatherings, haha.
Orot Silbi’s atmosphere and seating

The warm lighting and modern interior came together for such, such a lovely atmosphere.. 🖤 There’s everything from bar counter seating to tables for two and four! We arrived at 5:30, and by 6 it filled up in no time!
A menu ordered by phone

Each table has an NFC smart-order sign, so you can simply tap your phone, browse the menu slowly, and order comfortably ~~! Looking through it, I saw they have a separate lunch menu too!! I think office workers near Gongdeok Station would really enjoy lunch here, haha.

Before the mains arrived, we were served a neat little starter of crunchy, refreshing house-made pickles(?) made with cucumber and tomato!! The tanginess really freshened up the palate, haha.
The three dishes we ordered
- Flatfish konowata sashimi
- Iberico grilled pork collar
- Uni cream pasta

Our orders are here ~~>< The presentation is soooo incredible, right,,, It almost felt too pretty to eat,,, but I’ll eat it diligently anyway..🤤🤤
How did we eat the flatfish konowata sashimi?

The flatfish konowata sashimi came beautifully plated, with translucent, springy slices of flatfish that looked fresh at a glance.

It came with a sweet, salty, nutty house-made geu (fish innards) sauce, plus generous toppings of salmon roe, wasabi, pickled ginger, and shredded seaweed✨✨ I added a little sauce, salmon roe, and wasabi to the flatfish, and the sashimi itself was deliciously chewy too!
The rich flavor of uni cream pasta

The pasta was coated through with a thick, rich uni cream sauce, along with sea urchin roe! It was a little fishy for me, but anyone who loves that briny seafood flavor will definitely enjoy this one!!
The best dish: Iberico grilled pork collar

Today’s best dish~~ Thick-cut Iberico pork collar came piled with grilled kabocha squash, broccoli, shishito peppers, mushrooms, and more vegetables, all over a layer of basil pesto sauce, haha.

The basil aroma was insane.. It was subtle but stayed in my mouth right through to the end, making everything so savory!!! It was sooo delicious, and the grilled vegetables were especially the key!!!!ㅠㅠ The kabocha, mushrooms, broccoli, and everything else were grilled absolutely perfectly.. The meat was so tender that I couldn’t believe it was pork collar! I truly, truly recommend the Iberico grilled pork collar 😵💫🖤😵💫
Orot Silbi is a Gongdeok favorite where we could enjoy high-quality food and a drink in a softly lit atmosphere. Its ambiance makes it a great date spot, and every dish we ordered was completely satisfying!!!
