Kids' care zone with river view at Waltz and Dr. Mahn, Namyangju café
In short
Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a large café and coffee museum on Bukhangang-ro in Joan-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. Visiting with two kids, the writer ordered Honor & Chevalier (milk base), Honduras hand-drip coffee, and a seasonal fruit cheesecake in the kids' care zone, which sits closer to the river than the main hall and has an even better view. A great pick for both a family outing with kids and an anniversary date.

Hi, it's Chacha with something useful! ヾ(•ω•)o My husband and I love sitting by a window and taking in the sea, the forest, a river, whatever nice scenery is around. Is there a scenic café we can go to with our kid? While randomly searching, I stumbled across a big café in Namyangju famous for its Bukhan River view. Let me introduce you to Waltz and Dr. Mahn, a certified 'Hundred-Year Store' from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups!

What kind of place is Waltz and Dr. Mahn

With the Bukhan River spreading out beyond the windows, Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a Namyangju landmark where you can enjoy a café and dining space and a coffee museum experience all at once. Hand-brewed coffee, carefully prepared course meals, and a monthly classical concert all come together to add something special to dates, anniversaries, and family gatherings. Since opening in 1989, they've aimed to build a coffee house with a hundred-year tradition alongside the guests who keep coming back.

A place with an old-fashioned, distinctive vibe thanks to its red brick. Already well-known from TV shows and SNS like Live Today Morning and Tasty Road, Waltz and Dr. Mahn is also often used as a filming location. On the day we visited, a book interview was even being filmed at the outdoor seats..!
Interior mood and seating
Let's step inside. Once you're in, it feels like you've arrived at some upscale rural restaurant somewhere in Europe. Through the windows, the wide-open Bukhan River view harmonizes beautifully with the old wooden floors and ceiling and the pretty décor. On the last Friday night of every month, Waltz and Dr. Mahn hosts a classical concert. Spending a special evening with the river view and classical melodies together would be so romantic.

The kids' care zone and the adults-only space are separated, so it's comfortable to bring children too. In the main hall you can sit on cozy sofas and enjoy your meal or coffee while taking in the river view. Meals are served as a dining course, so I'd recommend booking via Naver.

The kids' care zone is closer to the river than the main hall
This is the kids' care zone where you can be with your children! Surprisingly spacious, and closer to the river than the main hall, so the view was even more to my liking. There are colorful, cute paintings hanging up too 🥰 You can order both food and coffee here as well.
Menu lineup
Let's take a look at the menu at Waltz and Dr. Mahn.
- 1. Dining course
- 2. Coffee and drinks
- 3. Desserts
At Waltz and Dr. Mahn you can enjoy a formal course meal alongside drinks. Prices run higher than your average brunch café, but once you visit, you'll see it's worth every won.
The Chacha family's review
Let's get into our review.

Here's what we ordered.
- Honor & Chevalier ₩18,000
- Honduras hand-drip coffee ₩14,000
- Seasonal fruit cheesecake ₩9,000
Honor & Chevalier (ordered with a milk base)
This is Honor & Chevalier. Isn't the color so pretty? It's the signature menu item, combining Dutch coffee or cold milk with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, cheesecake, and seasonal fruit. Since I was sharing it with my kid, I chose milk instead of coffee for the base.

My kid, who loves rainbow colors, absolutely adored it. There were even macaron pieces on top, so it was fun picking out the toppings one by one, haha. Every single fruit was fresh and refreshing, and with the sweet ice cream on top, it's a menu that's basically guaranteed to put you in a good mood. As a fellow sweets lover, Chacha enjoyed it happily too 😋

Honduras hand-drip coffee — how did his stomach feel the next day?
This is the Honduras hand-drip coffee my husband picked. Waltz and Dr. Mahn has about 20 different hand-drip coffees made with premium beans.
I'm pretty clueless about coffee, haha, so I asked my husband for his tasting notes. He tends to have a sensitive stomach, but he said the beans were clearly good — smooth and full of flavor while drinking, and his stomach felt fine even the next day 👍🏻
Seasonal fruit cheesecake
This is the seasonal fruit cheesecake — rich New York-style cream cheese baked into a cake and topped with seasonal fruit for a refreshing finish.

It brings out the cheese's own flavor while pairing nicely with a variety of fruits like grapefruit, fig, kiwi, cherry, Shine Muscat grapes, and blueberries — a dessert that goes great with coffee. A menu I confidently recommend to any cheesecake lover!

Click, with the cute kids! A 100-day-old baby and a five-year-old with maximum cuteness, enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee 😆🧡

Spending a pleasant tea time looking out at the wide-open Bukhan River view felt like being in another world. It's also perfect as an anniversary date spot with a partner!

Receipt review event
There's also a Naver receipt review event running now. Leave a review and you'll receive three types of hand-drip coffee in nice packaging (type is random). You can enjoy top-tier coffee easily at home too, so be sure to grab it.
That was our review of Waltz and Dr. Mahn, the go-to café at Dumulmeori. A place where you can spend a peaceful, atmospheric time with your partner or family — if you're wondering where to go for a café in Namyangju, this is a must-visit.
