Coffee Float Volcano and Opera Cake at Waltz and Dr. Mahn, Namyangju
In short
Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a large café and coffee museum right by the Bukhan River in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The visit covered the Coffee Float Volcano made with Kahlua liqueur and chocolate ice cream, the fruit-and-ice-cream Honor and Chevalier drink, the signature Opera Cake, and a stroll along the riverside path. With its elegant, old-world atmosphere, it's a great Namyangju café for an anniversary or drive date.

I went for a drive out toward Namyangju and stopped by Waltz and Dr. Mahn, a café where you can really enjoy the Bukhan River view! There are so many pretty cafés along the Bukhan River in Namyangju that it's hard to pick one, but this time I wanted a bit of leisure — coffee while gazing at the river — so I chose Waltz and Dr. Mahn ❤️

From a coffee museum to a restaurant — what is Waltz and Dr. Mahn?
Waltz and Dr. Mahn also runs a coffee museum, so there's plenty to look around and enjoy! Besides the café, they also run a restaurant with upscale course meals, which I'd highly recommend for an anniversary or proposal spot. And apparently there's a Friday Classical Music Concert every Friday too — such a special Namyangju café, right? ❤️

The Bukhan River café Waltz and Dr. Mahn also has a really spacious parking lot, so parking was very convenient!

Right by the Bukhan River, with a walking path nearby
It blends so well with the surrounding nature that even before stepping inside, I somehow felt like I'd arrived at a travel destination... 💕 Being right in front of the Bukhan River, just walking around the building was enough to feel completely relaxed!
Being able to look at the river up close made the scenery really lovely ❤️ With the open river and lush greenery all in view, it felt like proper healing without even having gone far from Seoul! I had coffee, then walked along the riverside path partway through to take in the Bukhan River view — I was genuinely so happy.

It's especially great as a Namyangju drive-course stop on a nice day — perfect whether you're just dropping by for a coffee or spending slow time together on a date haha

An old-world exterior and a calm interior
The first thing that caught my eye on arrival was the atmospheric building exterior! Rather than the usual look of the big new-build cafés you see everywhere these days, it had a calm, old-world feel like it's been standing there for a long time. So elegant — I'd recommend it for an anniversary visit!

The calm, comfortable mood felt completely different from a busy, chaotic café the moment I walked in! Great for sitting at a table and chatting, and just as good for a quiet coffee break.

Best of all, thanks to the view outside the windows, there was zero stuffy feeling even sitting indoors! The Bukhan River scenery fills the window seats, and just sitting there looking out was pure healing,,, ❤️
Waltz and Dr. Mahn menu — Honor and Chevalier, Coffee Float Volcano, Opera Cake

This large Namyangju café is a place to meet deep, rich hand-drip coffee! Since they run Korea's first coffee museum alongside the café, you can see the history of coffee culture from around the world at a glance — this Bukhan River café is truly serious about coffee 🩵

Honor and Chevalier
The visuals are seriously amazing, right?? It's a drink made with Dutch coffee or cold milk, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, cheesecake, and seasonal fruit! The fruit quality was excellent, and the coffee was sweet with a nice hit of chocolate ice cream too — a great menu item for a happy sugar refill!

Coffee Float Volcano
This is a coffee with Kahlua liqueur and chocolate ice cream topped with whipped cream and nuts! The bitter coffee paired really well with the sweet whipped cream and nutty crunch — a unique combination! I love coffee normally, so this was so delicious to me ㅎ_ㅎ

Opera Cake
This is the signature dessert at Waltz and Dr. Mahn café!! So pretty, right? They say the layered look is meant to evoke the seating rows of an opera house hahaha. It was sweet and had such a luxurious feel!

I even met an unnamed bird at the Bukhan River café Waltz and Dr. Mahn! Drinking coffee while looking out at the Bukhan River and taking a walk — this large Namyangju café was proper healing! If you're looking for a Duckmulmeori or Namyangju date course, put this on your must-visit list ❤️
Location and how to get there
This large Namyangju café, Waltz and Dr. Mahn, sits right in front of the Bukhan River, so I'd highly recommend it as a large café near Seoul for anyone looking for one!
