Galbi lunch for two with roulette naengmyeon prize: Geumseong Hoegwan
In short
Geumseong Hoegwan Seoul City Hall Direct Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Seoul City Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, where staff grill the galbi (short rib) for you. Two diners ordered one serving of galbi each with rice and the complimentary kimchi jjigae, then spun a review-event roulette wheel and won naengmyeon (cold noodles), all for about ₩20,000 per person. With strong ventilation that keeps meat smell off your clothes, it's a solid pick for a group dinner too.

The vibe and the grilling service
I visited after leaving a Naver review!

Clean and tidy from the exterior all the way inside! The staff were genuinely kind. When I mentioned there'd be two of us, they told us which menu items were popular and how best to eat them. They were friendly without being over the top, which as an introvert really touched me, ㅠ
The staff also grilled the meat for us themselves, so we could just relax and enjoy it. With service like this, it'd make a great spot for a work dinner too. In fact, it looked like some foreign guests were dining there too!!
The free kimchi jjigae, sauces, and menu review
The value for money here was seriously good.

First, kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) comes free, and it was packed with tofu and meat — way more substantial than a typical side dish.

The prices were really affordable too, so we could enjoy the meal without worry 🤩 From wasabi to a crunchy tempura-coating sauce — I thought they had such great taste. The wasabi wasn't spicy at all and was so tasty I kept helping myself to more! It was really delicious.

Winning naengmyeon from the roulette event

They were actively running a review event, letting you choose between spinning the roulette wheel, gyeopdae, or two yeomtong skewers. We went with the roulette. Spin, spin, the wheel goes round

At first it landed on 5th place, but while it was spinning I casually said, "Ah, I hope it lands on naengmyeon!" Then the staff member gave it a little nudge to shift it from 5th place to 3rd place instead! And 3rd place was exactly the naengmyeon prize haha. It was such a funny, heartwarming moment. The naengmyeon was really delicious. Thank you 😭
Ventilation that keeps meat smell off your clothes

The restaurant is big and spacious, so it seemed like a great spot for a group dinner. But what impressed me most was the ventilation system. Whatever they're using must be good, because when we walked out after eating, there was no smell on us at all. It really cut down on the usual worry about your clothes reeking of Korean BBQ afterward ✨ And having the staff grill the meat for us was such a plus!
Galbi quality and the ₩20,000 per person value

I'm not sure it comes across in the photos, but the meat quality was excellent. Usually when I eat lower-quality meat my stomach hurts the next day, but this time it didn't at all!!

Just going for lunch, having one serving of galbi each with a bowl of rice, comes out to about ₩20,000 per person, which really felt like great value. The naengmyeon we won from the roulette was cool and delicious. Eating it together with the galbi was pure heaven, ㅠ

Would I go back?
Friendly service, great-value menu, a fun event, and facilities that don't leave you smelling like the grill — this place has it all, so I'd definitely come back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a group dinner spot near Seoul City Hall!
