Late-night chicken pub near Balsan Station open till 2am: Daily Beer

I went on a day trip to Seoul last weekend, and even after dinner I kept craving late-night food, haha. While looking for somewhere near Balsan Station to grab a late bite, I noticed Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch had a lot of good reviews, so I decided to check it out. It turned out to be a great chicken spot near Balsan Station for when you're hungry late at night.

Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch is close to Balsan Station, so it was easy to find. It's within comfortable walking distance from the station, and since parking is available too, it seemed like a good spot to set as a meeting place.

Inside the pub and what's on the menu

The interior had that comfortable chicken restaurant feel with a bit of a pub vibe added in for enjoying beer. It wasn't too heavy an atmosphere, so it was nice to sit and chat comfortably over the meal. The music wasn't too loud and the vibe was good, so there were quite a few people quietly chatting away!

The menu had a good variety of chicken and dry snacks. What we ordered that day was half fried, half soy sauce chicken plus tteokbokki (spicy rice cake soup)! I was debating whether to just order one kind of chicken, but since this place is known as a chicken spot, I wanted to try both flavors.

How was the half fried, half soy sauce chicken?

First off, the chicken looked incredibly appetizing — and not just visually, the portion was huge too.

I tried the fried chicken first, and the batter was fried nice and crispy. The outside was crunchy and the inside was juicy, so it was delicious and clean-tasting even without any sauce.

In the past I've had fried chicken where the batter was too thick or went soggy quickly, but this time the crispy texture held up well from start to finish, so I really enjoyed it.

The soy sauce chicken had the sauce evenly coated on the outside — it wasn't just a heavy sweet soy glaze but had a savory depth to it, giving it a different appeal from the fried version.

Alternating between the clean-tasting fried chicken and the more flavorful soy sauce one, I never got tired of it and enjoyed it all the way through. Personally, ordering the half-and-half that day was a great choice.

Soup-style tteokbokki with ramen noodles

The tteokbokki at Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch also looked really appetizing, and once I tried it, the spicy, rich broth flavor was impressive.

It's a soup-style tteokbokki, so scooping up the rice cakes along with the broth together was so tasty.

Inside were rice cakes, sausage, and ramen noodles — the ramen noodles especially had soaked up the sauce well and were delicious, and the rice cakes were also fully infused with seasoning so the spicy flavor really came through.

I used to think tteokbokki ordered as a side at chicken places was just an afterthought dish, but this one was surprisingly tasty, so I ended up alternating between it and the chicken. My boyfriend, who loves rabokki (ramen tteokbokki), was very satisfied since it had ramen noodles in it and ate it up happily.

The fried chicken at Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch was crispy and clean-tasting, and the soy sauce chicken had a savory seasoning that paired well. The tteokbokki had a spicy, rich broth with ramen noodles and sausage in it too, making it plenty filling as a late-night meal. If you're near Balsan Station craving chicken and beer, or looking for a place for a simple drink, this is a comfortable spot to visit. Especially if you want to enjoy chicken alongside spicy tteokbokki, it's a Balsan bar worth stopping by at least once.
