Paju Korean restaurant with acorn jelly banchan: Eomma-ui Ttuksim
In short
Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Songhak 1-gil in Yadang-dong, Paju, Gyeonggi. For an after-work dinner, the writer ordered the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Rice Table, which brings pork bulgogi and spicy stir-fried octopus together with a large pot of doenjang jjigae, acorn jelly and yeolmu kimchi. If you want a home-style Korean meal at the end of a long day, Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a good fit.

I was trying to figure out what to eat after work, and I ended up craving Korean food with lots of banchan (side dishes) and a warm stew. After searching around, I decided to visit Eomma-ui Ttuksim in Yadang-dong, Paju.

Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a Korean restaurant located in Yadang-dong, Paju, and it's a Paju spot I wanted to introduce for anyone craving a hearty, home-style meal.
Inside Eomma-ui Ttuksim: dining room and menu

Eomma-ui Ttuksim has the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes for a comfortable meal, and they offer a full table-setting menu with a variety of banchan alongside the main dish, so it seemed like a great place to eat well and feel full. It also looked like a nice spot to bring family or friends for a leisurely meal.

At Eomma-ui Ttuksim you'll find various Korean dishes like pork bulgogi and stir-fried octopus, and since we wanted to try a bit of everything, we ordered the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Rice Table, which includes both pork bulgogi and stir-fried octopus. I usually prefer a meal with several banchan over just one dish, so I was really looking forward to this spread!
What comes with the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Rice Table?

When the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Rice Table arrived, the table was packed full — pork bulgogi and stir-fried octopus, of course, plus a variety of banchan and doenjang jjigae.

Unlike restaurants that only serve the main dish, having so many side dishes together made the whole spread look really generous.

Familiar side dishes like acorn jelly and yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) came out together, so it felt like eating a home-cooked meal made by my mom. When eating out, I usually focus mostly on the main dish, but this time I had fun trying each banchan one by one and took my time with the meal.

Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) served in a big pot
The set I ordered included doenjang jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew), and just the sight of it arriving in a big pot already felt like a real home-cooked meal.

The broth had a rich, savory flavor, and there were plenty of ingredients in the stew, which went really well with rice. Mixing a little rice into the savory broth brought my appetite back and made the meal even more enjoyable.

Sweet-savory pork bulgogi at Eomma-ui Ttuksim
The pork bulgogi had an appealing sweet-savory seasoning — the bulgogi's characteristic sweet sauce was well soaked into the meat, and it paired really well with rice.

The seasoning wasn't too strong, and there was no trace of the pork's usual smell, which made it even more enjoyable to eat.

Spicy jjukkumi (stir-fried baby octopus)
One of the dishes I was most looking forward to in this spread was the stir-fried octopus. It looked so appetizing from the start!!

The octopus was stir-fried in a rich, spicy sauce, and the very first bite brought that appetite-boosting spicy kick that was so appealing. It was really delicious paired with warm rice! Having more than one dish made the meal feel much more varied, and I ended up finishing a whole bowl of rice.
Who should eat at Eomma-ui Ttuksim?
That's my rundown of Eomma-ui Ttuksim! With plenty of banchan, savory doenjang jjigae, sweet-savory pork bulgogi, and spicy stir-fried octopus all in one meal, it made for a really satisfying dinner. I especially loved that banchan like acorn jelly and yeolmu kimchi made it feel just like a comfortable home-cooked meal. If you're looking for a good Korean set-meal restaurant in Paju or trying to decide on lunch near Yadang, I'd recommend Eomma-ui Ttuksim!
