Korean restaurant near Paju Premium Outlets: Eomma-ui Ttuksim

In short

Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a hanjeongsik-style (Korean set-meal) restaurant on Songhak 1-gil, near Yadang in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a Paju Premium Outlets day out, the writer ordered the ttuksim jjukkumi set for two (19,900 won) with cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and received stir-fried baby octopus, pork bulgogi and a full spread of side dishes. Parking sits in front of Eomma-ui Ttuksim and across the street, and the mild home-style cooking made it an easy lunch stop between outlet stores.

While looking for good food near Paju Premium Outlets, I found myself craving Korean food and headed to Eomma-ui Ttuksim. It's close to Yadang, Paju's main downtown area, so it's convenient to get to, and it's known as a great hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) spot — here's my honest review, from parking to taste.

Recording what I saw, tasted, and experienced firsthand.

Parking and the exterior of Eomma-ui Ttuksim

First-floor exterior of Eomma-ui Ttuksim with its eye-catching yellow sign

Eomma-ui Ttuksim sits on the first floor of a building. The yellow sign is easy to spot even from a distance, so finding it wasn't hard, and there's parking space right in front of the restaurant too.

The space out front might look limited, but there's also plenty of parking right across the street, so parking wasn't really something to worry about.

Once inside, wood-tone tables with white curtains and lighting gave the whole place a clean, comfortable feel.

Spacious table seating at Eomma-ui Ttuksim

The tables weren't packed too closely together, and there were seats for larger groups too, so it looked like a good spot for family gatherings or meals with friends.

There were also baby chairs set up on one side, so it looked convenient for families visiting with kids. And above all, the owner was incredibly kind — attentive to whatever we needed during the meal, which made the whole time spent there feel good, not just the food.

You can choose cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) or doenjang (soybean paste stew) for your soup!! We ordered the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set for two. After some deliberation, we went with the ttuksim jjukkumi set for two — stir-fried octopus + pork bulgogi + stew + rice + side dishes, with cheonggukjang as our stew choice!! We wanted to try a bit of everything, and the composition was great for that.

What comes with the ttuksim jjukkumi set for two

Once the whole table was set, it really felt like being at a proper hanjeongsik restaurant!!

Broccoli, pajeon (savory pancake), lettuce and garlic, and ssamjang (dipping sauce). It's the kind of spread you often see at home — matched exactly the hanjeongsik feel I was craving~

How spicy is the stir-fried baby octopus?

A plate of stir-fried octopus in red sauce

I tried the octopus first. Judging by the color of the sauce, it looked pretty spicy, but eating it, it wasn't overly harsh — more like a tasty level of spiciness.

Chewy octopus evenly coated in sauce

The octopus wasn't tough — it was chewy, and the sauce coated it evenly rather than sitting on the surface, so it was tasty even on its own.

Lettuce wrap with rice, octopus, and scallion shreds

Put a little rice on a lettuce leaf, wrap it up with the octopus and scallion shreds, and — ugh~~~ no words needed for this one!!

The sauce was rich and delicious, so mixing it with rice was seriously heavenly 👍

Soy-sauce pork bulgogi at Eomma-ui Ttuksim

A plate of soy-based pork bulgogi

The bulgogi that came with it was a completely different soy-sauce base from the octopus, so it was nice to alternate between the two.

The seasoning had soaked all the way into the meat, and it wasn't overly salty, so it went well with rice or lettuce wraps.

Lettuce wrap with rice, bulgogi, and scallion shreds

Rice, bulgogi, and scallion shreds on a lettuce leaf made a familiar yet filling bite~~ Going from spicy octopus to bulgogi, getting to eat two things at once — so good haha~

Nutty, hearty cheonggukjang stew

The cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) was really delicious too — as it started boiling, a savory aroma rose up, and it wasn't harsh or overly salty, just savory.

A pot of cheonggukjang loaded with tofu and vegetables

It was packed with tofu and vegetables, and since it kept simmering hot at the table, we got to enjoy it warm all the way to the end.

Even though it's food eaten outside, having cheonggukjang with rice and side dishes felt just like a meal made at home. Mixing rice into the cheonggukjang and topping it with octopus was a fantastic combo haha.

Is Eomma-ui Ttuksim a good lunch stop on a Paju outlet trip?

I think it's more accurate to call it home-cooked style food — a warm bowl of rice with tasty side dishes for a filling meal~

If you've planned a day trip to Paju that includes Paju Premium Outlets, this is a great spot to stop by for a hearty Korean lunch in the middle of it haha. It's not far from Yadang Station either, so if you're looking for a place to eat during a Paju trip or an outlet shopping day, I recommend Eomma-ui Ttuksim, a great hanjeongsik spot in Paju~
