Seocho pizza restaurant with squid gnocchi tteokbokki: Dooblock Isu

In short

Dooblock Isu is a pizza and pasta restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, a short walk from Exit 5 of Chongshin University (Isu) Station. Two people shared the diavola pizza at 22,800 won and the whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki at 24,800 won, ordered with a chosen spice level, and the contrast between chewy rice cakes and soft potato gnocchi plus the seafood savouriness left both plates empty. Dooblock Isu suits blind dates and wedding-invitation gatherings that want something other than the usual pasta.

Today's post is about Dooblock Isu, a spot near Isu Station with a great atmosphere and even better food. I was craving pizza or pasta, looked around, and ended up here. The reviews were really good, and once I visited, the vibe was indeed excellent — and the food had a bit more character than the usual menu, which made it all the more satisfying~!

Where is Dooblock Isu, and is there parking?

Dooblock Isu is a quick walk from Exit 5 of Isu Station (Chongshin University Entrance/Isu Station). Being so close to the station made it easy to find. When I make plans around Isu Station I prefer places not too far from the exit, so the accessibility was a plus. Parking is available too, but the mechanical parking at the store can't be used for EVs or SUVs.

The vibe at Dooblock Isu: blind dates and wedding-invitation meetups

Walking in, the space felt cozy. It was nearly full but never felt noisy, which I liked — and it wasn't overly formal either, just clean and stylish, making it a nice pick for dates or blind dates.

In fact, when I visited there were several tables that looked like they were on blind dates ><. There were also groups of friends and families. I'd heard it was known as a spot for wedding-invitation gatherings, and once I visited, the atmosphere fit that perfectly hahaha.

Alongside pizza and pasta, there's a wide range including salads, risotto, steak, and brunch dishes... but we wanted something a bit different that day, so we ordered the diavola pizza and the whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki (spicy rice cake dish) haha.

Diavola pizza, 22,800 won: how was it?

First up was the diavola, priced at ₩22,800. It's a classic pizza combining spicy Italian salami, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese. The salty, spicy kick from the salami added extra depth to the usual cheese-and-tomato-sauce combo! The cheese was generously piled on too, so anyone who likes pizza will enjoy this without fail. The dough was also chewy, tasty, and light.

If you're visiting with two people, ordering one pizza plus one pasta or risotto to share seems like a good combo. Beyond the diavola, there's also Margherita and Garlic Gorgonzola, so you can pick according to taste.

Whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki, 24,800 won: rice cake vs. gnocchi texture

And the dish I was most excited about that day was the whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki haha. Priced at ₩24,800, it's a seafood tteokbokki with whole squid gnocchi in it. Since both tteokbokki rice cakes and gnocchi went in together, the different textures made it fun to eat. The rice cake had that signature chewy bounce, while the gnocchi, made from potato, was chewy too but with a slightly fluffy, potato-like texture.

Both are chewy but subtly different, so switching between rice cake and gnocchi bite by bite was genuinely fun haha. Whoever thought of putting gnocchi into tteokbokki clearly knows their food.

How spicy is the gnocchi tteokbokki?

You can choose the spice level, and we PICKed spicy! It wasn't blazing hot, more like mildly spicy — about the heat level of Neoguri instant noodles, to my taste. The spicy sauce was loaded with plump squid, shrimp, and clams.

With a whole octopus piled on top, it passed the visual test right away. And the whole squid was genuinely plump. It wasn't just the flavor of the tteokbokki sauce — the umami from the seafood layered right in, which made it even tastier.

This also worked surprisingly well paired with the pizza. While eating the pizza, I dipped the crust end into the gnocchi tteokbokki sauce... and it was seriously good haha. The tomato-based pizza and the spicy seafood tteokbokki sauce matched better than I expected, so I ended up dipping the whole crust into the sauce, bite after bite.

In the end, we cleaned out both the diavola pizza and the whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki we ordered that day. At first the portions looked like a lot and I wondered if we could finish it all, but since it was so delicious, that worry turned out to be needless haha. If you want pizza but also crave something a bit different from the usual pasta or risotto, this combo is a great pick. Especially with a group, ordering one pizza and one whole squid gnocchi tteokbokki to share sounds like a good plan.

Coming back to Dooblock Isu for brunch

There seem to be goods for sale at the entrance too?? So aesthetic ❤️❤️❤️ This time I visited in the evening for pizza and gnocchi tteokbokki, but I feel like Dooblock would have a great atmosphere for a daytime brunch visit too. There's a separate brunch menu, so next time I want to come during the day and enjoy brunch and coffee at a relaxed pace! If you're looking for a stylish pizza-and-pasta spot near Isu Station, I recommend Dooblock Isu.
