This time I visited Picnic List Mangwon. What I liked most right away was the location. The store is just 3 minutes from the entrance of Mangwon Han River Park, so it was really convenient to rent the picnic gear and then walk straight to the park. Packing for a picnic always ends up being more stuff than you expect, but being right in front of the park took a lot of that burden off.

If you're taking the subway, get off at Mangwon Station and head toward Mangwon Han River Park; if you're taking the bus, you can get off near Mangwon Han River Park or Mangwon Market and walk over. If you're looking for a date course at Mangwon Han River Park, you'll probably love the location alone.

One reason I love picnics is the fun of browsing cute props, and Picnic List Mangwon won me over the moment I walked in with all its charming, aesthetic little items.

Using props like a rattan basket or a blanket together, the photos turn out pretty even without trying too hard to style anything. This time I used a red check picnic blanket with a basket, blanket, table, and chairs, and once it was all spread out on the grass by the Han River, the vibe really came together. This would suit anyone who wants to take pretty photos too.

Renting chairs made the Han River picnic far more comfortable

Having chairs this time was especially nice. Sitting on a blanket the whole time can get a bit uncomfortable for your back or legs, but being able to lean back in a chair now and then let me enjoy the picnic much more comfortably.

For this picnic, I also brought along a bubble gun. Blowing bubbles on the grass by the Han River turned out to be more fun than I expected. They drifted into our photos naturally too, making the whole mood feel even richer.

And of course, no picnic is complete without food! We picked up a heart-shaped Margherita pizza from the Pizza Forza flagship in Mangwon, and nachos and coke to go from Nacho Macho. Laying the food out on the pretty picnic blanket made even a simple meal feel special. The heart-shaped Margherita pizza especially matched the red check blanket so well — great for photos, and perfect for sharing between two people.

There are plenty of restaurants near Mangwon Han River Park that do takeout, so it's worth picking out a good meal to pair with your picnic.

I also liked that Picnic List Mangwon lets you pick and choose exactly what you need. The basic set is ₩10,000, the combo set is also ₩10,000, and the mix-and-match option, where you combine 4 items yourself, is ₩8,000.

There are also a Picnic Plus Set and an Event Plus Set available, so you can choose whatever fits your situation. Rather than just renting a ton of stuff, being able to pick only what you actually need made it feel reasonable and practical.

At Picnic List Mangwon, you can rent not just blankets but tents too. If you're planning to use a tent at Mangwon Han River Park, it's a good idea to check the park's usage rules in advance. Per the store's signage, tents are allowed from March through November, and the setup hours vary by season.

Setup allowed until 7pm in March–May and September–November, and until 8pm in June–August

Blankets, on the other hand, can be used anytime without period or time restrictions. So if you're planning to use a tent, I'd recommend checking both the park's rules and the timing on the day of your visit.

How renting and returning works at Picnic List Mangwon

I visited on a weekend, and the staff had my reserved items ready, so pickup was easy. (On weekdays it's QR self-return.) I loaded the rented items onto a cart to move them, and even though there was quite a bit of stuff, being able to carry it all at once made things much smoother than I expected.

And once the picnic was over, I just gathered up the rented items and returned everything together — done! No need to return each item one by one, which made things easy right to the end. Picnics are fun, but prepping and packing up can sometimes be a hassle — this really cut that down.

I used to mostly go to Yeouido Han River Park for river picnics, but after visiting Mangwon Han River Park this time, I actually ended up liking it more. It's great for spreading out a blanket on the grass and relaxing, and with so many other people around enjoying picnics too, you get that lively weekend energy. On a nice-weather day, it'd be great to visit with friends for a camping-style picnic, or with a partner as a date course with takeout food. In spring, it'd also be nice to time a picnic with the cherry blossom festival when the blossoms are in bloom.

Verdict: would I go back to Picnic List Mangwon?

Overall, I was really satisfied with Picnic List Mangwon. Above all, I loved the location right in front of Mangwon Han River Park, the variety of picnic gear, the aesthetic design, the reasonable prices, and how simple the rental and return process was.

You can rent just a blanket, or put together your own picnic set with a table, chairs, basket, blanket, wine glasses, and more — so you can choose based on your own taste. If you're like me and enjoy setting a picnic mood, there are plenty of cute props to browse too.
