I love that it's open every day with no closed days. I drove and parked in the building's basement lot, which was convenient since it's right there. I noticed other people parking on the street in front of the café too.

The tree-lined street exterior and pale yellow interior

Butter & Shelter Bundang Jeongja sits right in front of a lush tree-lined street, so the moment I stood in front of the café I got a real European-vacation vibe. Stepping inside, the pale yellow interior felt cute and comfortable at the same time — my mood relaxed the second I opened the door.

Even though I arrived a little past lunchtime, around 1:30, the outdoor terrace seats were already full. It must be a really popular café! Luckily there was still room inside, so I got seated right away with no wait.

What we ordered at Butter & Shelter

There were so many mouthwatering desserts in the display case at Butter & Shelter Bundang Jeongja that it took me a while to choose. I didn't want to settle for just one, so after much deliberation I ended up ordering plenty: a flat white, lemonade, cheesecake, and a crème brûlée butter sand.

Flat white

The balance of sweet and bitter was great, and the coffee aroma was strong — coffee lovers would be satisfied with this one.

Lemonade

Loaded with real lemon, it tasted properly fresh and tangy rather than artificial. Perfect for quenching thirst on a hot day.

Cheesecake

Honestly, this was the best cheesecake I've ever had. The cheese was so smooth and melted in my mouth — I was impressed from the very first bite.

Crème brûlée butter sand

True to its status as Butter & Shelter's signature item, it was crisp on the outside and packed with sweet cream inside — it paired really well with coffee.

The butter sand here has butter cream made with Isigny gourmet butter sandwiched between cookies — it wasn't greasy or too sweet, just the right balance.

Butter & Shelter Bundang Jeongja charges separately for packaging: shopping bag ₩500 (small) / ₩800 (large), gift box ₩1,500 (small) / ₩2,000 (large), and cooler bag ₩1,500.

The staff were so friendly that ordering felt pleasant. The packaging box was so pretty that I thought it would make a fine gift for a friend, or even a nice thank-you gift. Watching each dessert being packed with such care, I could really feel the attention to detail.

This visit confirmed once again that Butter & Shelter Bundang Jeongja stands out for dessert quality even among Jeongja-dong cafés. With its European-feeling exterior, cute interior, and friendly service, all three elements come together well — I've already saved it as a café I want to revisit. I'd like to come back with my daughter next time and try the desserts I haven't gotten to yet, one by one.
