Today's story is about my brunch at Meolmeol Pangyo in Baekhyeon-dong. I was looking for a nice-vibe brunch place on the Baekhyeon-dong café street and came across Meolmeol Pangyo. When I go out for brunch I care about the food, of course, but I also really care about the atmosphere of the space — and Meolmeol Pangyo has both good food and such an emotional, pretty space that it'd make a great date spot too.

Since it's on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, there are lots of pretty cafés and restaurants clustered nearby, so it's a good spot for a date — wander the café street before or after your meal.

I made a Naver reservation beforehand — there can be a wait, so definitely book ahead!

Inside Meolmeol Pangyo: floor-to-ceiling windows and a playground-view terrace
Meolmeol Pangyo's exterior already caught my eye — it felt like a little brunch café on a European alleyway even before stepping inside. A really pretty space for photos too.

Once you go inside, natural light pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, giving the whole place a bright, warm feel. The tables aren't cramped either, so it was comfortable to eat there!

Besides the indoor seating, there's a terrace too, so on a nice day you could enjoy brunch outside. There's a playground right in front, so if you come with family, the kids can play there while you have brunch — perfect.

It's not overly formal like a fine-dining restaurant, but not too casual like a plain café either, so it's a good place to visit for a relaxed date with good food.

The three dishes ordered at Meolmeol Pangyo
We ordered the raspberry endive salad, Grandma's lasagna, and truffle baby potato fries.

Raspberry endive salad
The salad came out first — the crisp, refreshing bite of endive combined with the sweet-tart raspberry made it super refreshing overall. It's exactly my kind of flavor, so I scraped the plate clean 🥹

After a heavier dish like the lasagna, one bite of this salad cleaned up my palate — glad we ordered it together. The raspberry's tartness matched surprisingly well, and the endive had a nice crunch. Rather than just a side, it felt like a dish in its own right!
Grandma's lasagna
The lasagna is introduced as one of Meolmeol Pangyo's signature dishes — a must-try if you like lasagna!!
It had that classic rich, savory lasagna flavor, with the layered ingredients and sauce coming together for a full, layered bite. The savoriness of the cheese and the tomato base combined for a deep flavor that wasn't bland at all, and eating it warm added a nice soft texture!
Personally, the lasagna felt much lighter and paired even better eaten together with the salad — try that combo yourselves ☺️

Truffle baby potato fries
I ordered the truffle baby potato fries thinking of them as just a side, but they were way more delicious than expected 👍🏻👍🏻 The baby potatoes were fried crisp, with a crunchy outside and a fluffy inside. Add the truffle aroma on top, and it was the kind of dish you keep reaching for. The sauce is really the kicker!!

When you hear 'fries' you usually think of thin-cut fries, but since these use baby potatoes, they're a bit thicker and fluffier — just so you know!

Is Meolmeol Pangyo good for a Pangyo brunch date?
These days, you can find a pretty café or a supposedly great restaurant and still end up disappointed by the food, but Meolmeol Pangyo is a place where you can enjoy both a beautiful food presentation and a nice atmosphere together — great for a date.

It's nice for sitting quietly, having brunch and chatting, and the Baekhyeon-dong café street itself is good for walking around, so it's easy to head to another café or just stroll afterward ☺️

When a heavy restaurant feels like too much for a date, but a simple café brunch feels a bit lacking, this place hits just the right in-between vibe. Next time I have a brunch plan around Pangyo, I think I'll come back!
