Today I'm introducing a genuinely delicious, soul-warming Korean restaurant near Seolleung Station that's perfect for an office worker's lunch. It's a gamjatang (pork bone stew), kkotgetang (blue crab stew), and ppyeojjim (steamed bone dish) spot haha.

Here's the exterior~~ I liked that you can tell exactly what kind of food they serve at a glance haha. Just from the outside you can tell it's a gamjatang and kkotgetang place, which I liked.

What is the seating like inside Haeseonok Seolleung Branch?

Wood-toned interior of Haeseonok Seolleung Branch

The inside of Haeseonok Seolleung Branch is wood-toned and clean!! It's classic Korean restaurant interior design. The tables are well spaced, with everything from 4-tops to big tables.

There are lots of seats too~~ The interior isn't huge, but there are surprisingly many tables! Seemed perfect for an office worker lunch spot.

And above all, the owner is quick with the food, so turnover is great!

Haeseonok's menu and single-serving options

You order at Haeseonok Seolleung Branch through the tablet attached to each table! There are lots of set-menu combinations, which made choosing easy. They actually have a solo gamjatang and a solo ppyeojjim menu — genuinely touching 🥹. So jealous of the office workers who work near Haeseonok. Everything on the menu is delicious ☺️☺️

What the small gamjatang and fried rice taste like

Small gamjatang topped with bean sprouts and perilla powder

I ordered one small gamjatang and fried rice! I was curious about the solo gamjatang and solo ppyeojjim, but I ordered the regular size to make sure I could get the fried rice haha. It came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The owner's hands really are fast.

It's piled with bean sprouts and perilla powder, and that's genuinely the special touch. Maybe because of the perilla powder, the broth was really rich and delicious. They use domestic pork spine, and apparently handle everything themselves — from cleaning and boiling to seasoning and simmering!

See how the bean sprouts just spill out. I really ate well and generously 👍. The bean sprouts were crunchy too, and you could feel the quality of the ingredients.

The gamjatang was also packed full of bones.

Pork spine meat pulled out of the gamjatang

I'm not great with meat that's tough or has a strong smell, but this meat was really, really tender and delicious!!

There were potatoes in it too, which is genuinely a special treat. And what's amazing is that it wasn't salty at all — the seasoning was exactly right!! Usually at places like this it's so salty you have to add water or extra broth, but there was none of that here — the seasoning was spot-on and the broth was so delicious I kept eating.

The finishing fried rice!! I ordered the gamjatang just to eat this haha. Flying fish roe piled high + savory sesame oil = knockout 😇. It was genuinely delicious.

I topped the fried rice with meat and had myself a lovely day.

Why Haeseonok works for a gamjatang lunch near Seolleung Station

If you work near Seolleung Station, I totally recommend Haeseonok! Turnover is fast and the food comes out really quickly. But above all, the food is so delicious — recommended!!

The broth at Haeseonok was genuinely incredibly delicious. You could really taste the rich, savory flavor unique to gamjatang, without it being too heavy or cloying, so my spoon kept going back for more. Between fishing out the meat and potatoes and taking sips of the broth, I somehow ended up nearly finishing all of it.

It goes really well with rice, and it's also perfect alongside a drink! If you're looking for a hearty, delicious meal near Seolleung Station, I think it's worth a visit. The owner is also genuinely, genuinely kind. Next time I'm going to try the ppyeojjim and kkotgetang too~~
