Hiii, long time no blog post haha
My husband had the day off today, so I decided to take a half-day off too and play! (I did technically have things to do though) We planned to have lunch together near my office, so we went to Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch, a hand-made burger place I'd been wanting to try.
Actually I'd had Base Burger once before, waaay back when I lived in Gangseo-gu, Seoul — at Magok. I remember really enjoying it then too haha. It's a franchise, technically, but it really has that hand-made burger feel.

The storefront. Base Burger is on the 2nd floor of Avenue France. Just a note: they give 2 hours of free parking! The Avenue France parking lot pretty much always has spots, so driving there should be fine.
What the weekday lunch atmosphere and seating are like
Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch has just enough tables — not too few. When we went on a weekday lunch, there were only 2-3 tables of customers.
The tables were spaced comfortably apart, so we ate at ease. Given how quickly burger orders turn over, I don't think you need to worry about finding a seat!
How to order at the kiosk and get the review event freebie
Ordering is via kiosk. You take a buzzer yourself, and when it rings, you go pick up your food. They're running an event where you get a free mozza cheese stick for writing a photo review. The mozza cheese stick was actually pretty tasty, so I'd recommend doing the review event.

Something I only realized while writing this blog post,,; if you're going to get sweet potato fries, it would've been way cheaper to just order the combo as a set instead of adding a side separately haha... I didn't know... oops
How the unlimited potato chip refills work
Base Burger's standout feature is 🌟unlimited potato chip refills🌟. You just help yourself from the big container!
I'd come here before because I loved this feature... I'm a fries-and-chips killer, so even at buffets, no matter how full I am, I always have another plate of fries in front of me... hehe. We refilled twice while waiting for our burgers haha. Crunchy and delicious, right? Chatting away while we waited, we polished off 2 plates in no time.
The sauces are tomato ketchup and mayonnaise. Help yourself freely. The tomato ketchup is a bit watery. Dipping the chips in mayonnaise is honestly the best move, just saying.
The menu has arrived~.~ Ahh it was so good (the mozza cheese sticks came later)
They also give 2 disposable gloves per person! So you can eat with your hands and still stay clean 👍
How the Mushroom Burger and Double Base Burger taste
This is the Mushroom Burger I ordered. Two big fried shiitake mushrooms come along with the beef patty. If you like shiitake mushrooms, this burger is a can't-lose. The fried mushrooms came out freshly fried and crispy — really tasty haha.
My husband had the Double Base Burger, which is a regular Base Burger with one extra meat patty added.
Mozza cheese stick vs chilli mozza cheese stick
Mozza cheese stick & chilli mozza cheese stick. Cheese sticks cool down fast, so I recommend eating them first! We ate them right when we got them, and the cheese pulled in long, satisfying strands. The chilli mozza cheese stick was spicier than expected, so people who can't handle spice should avoid it! (I'm one of those people too haha)
Are the sweet potato fries worth ordering?
Base Burger's sweet potato fries come with ranch sauce on the side. Since the potato chips are already free, I'd personally recommend trying the sweet potato fries too! It was delicious 👏
I think I'll come back again sometime when I'm craving it! Had a great meal today too.
