Ganghwa duck and octopus jumulleok with paddy views: Deok Ori
In short
Deok Ori Jumulleok Ganghwa Main Branch is a duck jumulleok (spicy stir-fried duck) restaurant with rice-paddy views on Manisan-ro in Ganghwa, Incheon. Visiting with a child, we ordered the octopus-duck jumulleok at 27,000 won per person (300g duck plus 150g octopus), which arrived charcoal pre-grilled, topped it with perilla leaves, and finished the meal with fried rice in the leftover sauce. Deok Ori Jumulleok uses no MSG and keeps the seasoning gentle, yet the plate kept disappearing, so we would happily return.

I found this place while passing near Mani Mountain in Ganghwa, looking for somewhere to eat with my kid. I searched for Ganghwa Mani Mountain duck restaurants and found this one — hearing you could eat with a rice-paddy view, I booked right away and went.

What does Deok Ori Jumulleok look like from outside?

Deok Ori Jumulleok Ganghwa Main Branch is a prefab building set slightly back from Manisan-ro. With its blue roof and the name written in big letters, it wasn't hard to find. The back is surrounded by trees, so when I visited in summer there was plenty of shade and a proper countryside feel.
Parking, reservations and the 15:00-17:00 break time
There's a wide open lot in front of the building, so parking isn't something to worry about. There was plenty of space when we visited.
You can reserve ahead via Naver Reservation, and since there's a fixed daily quantity, it can close early once sold out — if you're curious, calling ahead to check stock might be a good idea.
According to the posted sign, hours run 11:00 to 21:00 both weekdays and weekends, with a break time listed as 15:00-16:00. But the actual break time is 15:00-17:00! I've written the actual hours at the top based on Naver.
The regular closing day was Monday. Definitely worth checking before you go.

Inside the Ganghwa dining room
The inside was clean and spacious. The owner seems to love plants, since there were a lot of potted ones around.

Duck jumulleok menu and prices at Deok Ori Jumulleok
There were several types of duck jumulleok (spicy stir-fried duck) on the menu. Basic duck jumulleok (₩20,000 per person), samchae duck jumulleok (₩22,000 per person), shrimp duck jumulleok (₩25,000 per person), and we ordered the octopus duck jumulleok (₩27,000 per person, 300g duck + 150g octopus).
+) You all know fried rice at the end is a must, right? Also keep in mind the minimum order is 2 servings.

Side dishes and the restaurant's homegrown lettuce
The side dishes came out first, and each one was neatly done. Not exaggerating like an ad — it genuinely felt like homemade side dishes. It tasted so much like something my grandmother would make that I kept eating and asked for more.
They said they even grew the lettuce themselves from seed. The leaves were soft and really delicious.

While waiting, I read the sign taped to the table. A receipt review event this simple?! They give you fried rice for it!! Gotta do it, gotta do it~~ Everyone, write a quick review and be sure to get the fried rice ❤️

Octopus duck jumulleok: charcoal pre-grilled, then finished at the table
After a short wait they showed us the charcoal grilling! They added Korean-sourced octopus alongside, and the smell of duck and octopus cooking together was so good.
Sizzle sizzle — the pre-grilled duck gets stir-fried again right at the table. Since it's already cooked, you just wait a bit and dig in!
And in go a mountain of perilla leaves!

Making it even better — perilla leaves are love. Tender and impossible to stop eating; maybe because there's no MSG, it wasn't overly salty but I kept reaching for more anyway.

The rice-paddy view seats
I loved this so much. Eating delicious octopus-duck jumulleok while looking at a lush green rice paddy. Ah, so happy 🥰

Fried rice in the leftover sauce
We're not done yet. Now the highlight, the K-dessert! Fried rice remains. We added perilla leaves and dried seaweed flakes into the leftover sauce and fried up rice — the duck fat soaked into every grain, and it was a real treat too.
So good. So happy, I'm really 🐷

We finished it down to the last grain of rice!

Visiting Deok Ori Jumulleok with a child
"Mom, I want to eat too." / "Hurry and grow up. No wait, take your time..."
There were kid chairs available so seating was easy. My child watched the sizzling duck cook right before her eyes, mouth open, fascinated. Since the sauce is spicy, rather than letting her eat it directly we mostly fed her the vegetable sides — for a kid around age 3, I'd recommend keeping the spice level in mind and sticking to milder side dishes. The restroom is outside, in front of the parking lot.

What could be better
Since there's a fixed daily quantity, service can end early once it's sold out — if you don't know that ahead of time, you might make a wasted trip. I'd recommend booking in advance through Naver Reservation.
Would we go back to Deok Ori Jumulleok?
The seasoning wasn't overly strong but was still impossible to stop eating, so yes, I'd go back. Next time I want to try the shrimp duck jumulleok too. If you're looking for a duck restaurant near Mani Mountain in Ganghwa to visit with your kid, this one's worth a stop.
