Ganghwa duck restaurant near Mani Mountain luge: Deok Ori Jumulleok
In short
Deok Ori Jumulleok Ganghwa Main Branch is a duck roast and duck jumulleok (spicy stir-fried duck) restaurant in Ganghwa, Incheon, a 10-minute drive from Mani Mountain and the luge track. A family of three booked a late weekend dinner after a Mani Mountain outing and ordered one serving of duck roast (20,000 won) and two servings of shrimp duck jumulleok (25,000 won), praising the smoky flavour from the charcoal pre-grilling and the shrimp, which were far plumper than expected. With the free fried rice from the review event, the three of them left full, making Deok Ori Jumulleok an easy family dinner stop near the luge.

After a trip to Mani Mountain in Ganghwa with my family, we were trying to figure out what to eat for dinner and ended up at Deok Ori Jumulleok, a seriously good duck restaurant! From the soft, tender duck roast to the properly smoky duck jumulleok (spicy stir-fried duck), the whole family left super satisfied!!

Deok Ori Jumulleok, this Ganghwa restaurant, is only 10 minutes from Mani Mountain and the luge track, so it's really easy to get to. There's a parking lot right in front of the store too, so no need to stress about parking!

Deok Ori Jumulleok only ages and sells a set amount of duck each day, so once it's sold out, they close early! If you're planning to visit in the evening, I'd recommend calling ahead first.

We had a reservation and visited late on a weekend evening, but it was already nearly full — living up to its reputation as a top duck spot near Mani Mountain.

What a family of three ordered, plus the side dishes
Here's the menu at Deok Ori Jumulleok. It's basically split into duck roast and seasoned jumulleok! As a group of three, here's what we ordered:
- Duck roast ₩20,000 x1
- Shrimp duck jumulleok ₩25,000 x2

The basic side dishes were kimchi, pickled radish, perilla leaves, cabbage, candied sweet potato, and dongchimi (watery radish kimchi) — all great pairings with duck. And apparently everything is grown locally in Ganghwa, which is awesome!!
How does the duck roast taste with perilla-leaf wraps?

All the duck comes pre-grilled over charcoal! While the duck jumulleok was being pre-grilled, the duck roast came out first. It was loaded with generous chunks of duck along with mushrooms, sliced garlic, rice cakes, and vegetables.

I usually eat smoked duck at home, and eating regular duck roast for once had a totally different charm?! It wasn't heavily seasoned but had this clean flavor that kept me reaching for more!! And the duck was seriously tender. Wrapping it up with all the extra ingredients in a perilla leaf was so fragrant and delicious. Duck and perilla leaf are a great match!!
Shrimp duck jumulleok: charcoal pre-grilling and how big the shrimp are
I actually went and watched the owner pre-grilling the duck jumulleok! Watching him grill the duck marinated in the special sauce right over the charcoal fire,,,!! With a bit of flame showing off to lock in that smoky flavor, my expectations were through the roof.
The pre-grilled duck jumulleok then gets stir-fried once more at the table with fragrant perilla leaves. Gosh, the color was just insane,,,

It looked really spicy but wasn't actually that spicy, which was great!! The duck jumulleok was ridiculously tender too,,!! With the slightly spicy special sauce plus the fresh-off-the-grill smoky flavor, every kind of savory taste just exploded.

The shrimp especially were huge and plump, which I loved. Honestly, the shrimp in the menu photo didn't look that big, so I wasn't expecting much,,,haha but the actual shrimp came out way bigger and plumper — I was so surprised, haha. There was plenty of shrimp too, so I ate generously right to the end. The shrimp duck jumulleok is only ₩5,000 more than the regular jumulleok, and it's absolutely worth the extra ₩5,000!!

The plump, springy texture of the shrimp combined with the soft, chewy duck meat was such a great combo><
Fried rice to finish: is one serving enough for three?
And to finish, of course, the amazing fried rice!! There's no way we could skip it~~! If you take part in the Naver review event, you get one serving of fried rice for free, so don't miss it!! Fried rice made in duck fat is a must-eat!!

Mixing that savory duck fat and jumulleok sauce thoroughly into the fried rice is just so delicious, I swear. There was plenty of it too, so one serving was more than enough for the three of us to fill up on. Honestly, we were already so full from just the duck that we thought about skipping the fried rice, but once we ordered it, it was so good that we finished it all, haha.

We had such a healthy and delicious time with some beer at Deok Ori Jumulleok, a top spot near Mani Mountain~!! What made it even better was that the whole family was satisfied too, haha. If you're looking for good restaurants near Mani Mountain in Ganghwa or near the luge track, definitely give Deok Ori Jumulleok a visit~!
