The place we absolutely have to stop by when we're on a Hyehwa date! We visited Hero Board Game Cafe Daehangno Branch for the nth time, paid for ourselves. If you're looking for a Daehangno board game café or somewhere in Hyehwa with Nintendo Switch, just come here.

It's on the second floor of the MINISO building. You can take the stairs since it's only the second floor, but I took the elevator.

Getting seated and the board game area

When you arrive, the staff check your party size and show you to a seat. If it's busy or they're helping another group, you may have to wait—but you can play the whack-a-mole game by the counter then.

The place is comfortable, and you can play pool too. Honestly, I've never tried that, so I don't really know much about it.

There are lots of different board games.

We were assigned a spot on the second floor, and the staff gave us a room-number tag. You have to hand it in at the counter when you leave.

Even though it was a weekday, everyone seemed to be having a fun time. This is the great thing about board game cafés: it's okay to be noisy. The other groups are even noisier.

Nintendo Switch Super Mario Party Jamboree

The reason we came: the Nintendo Switch use guide. We decided on Super Mario Party. It's fun // you have to try it.

Leave your ID with the staff, pick up the Nintendo console, monitor, and game cartridge, then head to your seat. Everyone, make sure you take your ID home with you.

Green tea chocolate snowflake bingsu, ordered one for two

It's one drink per person, but one bingsu can be shared by two people, so we ordered bingsu. Since we visited on a weekday, we went with the all-day unlimited option.

They have lots of bingsu varieties, including the trend-following Chodang corn bingsu. I love bingsu topped with brownie cubes or cheese cubes, so we chose the green tea chocolate snowflake bingsu.

The presentation is incredible // The bingsu arrived while we were setting up the console. It came out so quickly—felt like three minutes.

The bingsu here is delicious. They give you lots of brownies and loads of chocolate crunchies? too // Next time I want to try the cheese bingsu. I love cheese cubes.

We added condensed milk for +₩700, but it would have been sweet enough without it thanks to the brownies.

The heart-pounding shopping mall map. Coins <<<< stars. This is a battle for stars. You move by rolling dice, like Blue Marble. Nice, 50 coins.

Various minigames pop up along the way, and they're fun haha. I kept coming last at first, but there was one I came first in too // Still, I didn't get a single star.

This Daisy is a CPU.

The CPU players kept getting only good things and were way too good. Turns out we'd set the CPU difficulty high. No wonder I kept rolling a 1 while they kept getting 9s and 10s.

My boyfriend was first with two stars, but he met that giant fat dinosaur and got completely robbed. It moved quickly through five options, so I wondered if there was a difference—but they were all basically, “I'll take everything, okay.” Why is there even a stop button?

ㅠㅠ On this shopping mall map, my boyfriend came first << and beat the CPU. Haha, amazing.

It even shows the results. Only Jjoreuttu stayed in last place with no change. Jjoreuttu...

We started with the difficult shopping mall map, so on the easier Mega Wiggler and Rainbow Galleria maps, I got stars too // I look so excited. Jjoreuttu, you're amazing.
