Sinnonhyeon hair salon dark ash brown full color on long hair: Heeol

It's not super chilly yet, but it's already late September. To welcome autumn, I went to Heeol Hair, a hair salon near Sinnonhyeon Station, for a tone-down color! Whenever I dye my hair I usually worry about the damage first, but this place includes a clinic treatment as part of the service, so I booked through Naver Reservation right away haha.

Where is Heeol Hair Gangnam Flagship Store? 3rd floor between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations

Heeol Hair Gangnam Flagship Store is on the 3rd floor of a building on the café street between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station — just walk up the alley where the CGV is. Photoism Gangnam branch 1 is nearby too, along with lots of cafés, so it's a perfect spot to stop by before an appointment!

Heeol means "everyone is joyful" — a space meant to give joy, not just prettiness, and true to that, the interior was decorated in warm wood tones, comfortable and clean haha. Every single designer was so kind that I felt good throughout the whole service.

Autumn color consultation: why ash was mixed into the dark brown

At Heeol Hair, they carefully check the consultation sheet for what style you want and your service history from the past three years, and designer Geunyeong kindly consulted with me about what color would work well for an autumn dye.

My current hair color was a slightly bright brown, and I said I didn't want anything too dark or black, just something natural-looking... I guess I sounded a bit picky haha. She suggested a calm, tone-down dark brown mixed with ash to tame the red tones, and I thought, she really gets exactly what I want! It put me at ease haha.

After the consultation, I moved seats and the color started right away. They gave me a welcome drink and snacks, and the coffee had a neat lid with a straw already poked in — that little detail already won me over...!!

Full-length color + clinic

The full color process on long hair, from scalp protector to ash blue dye

Before the actual coloring, they sprayed scalp protector evenly all over. They also attached a protective face shield so there was no worry about dye splashing — they took care of every detail the whole time!!

Then they applied the dye, which had an ash blue tone mixed in to tame the redness typical of old brown color, so the dye itself looked slightly blue haha.

My hair was pretty damaged and long, and got super tangled, but they worked through it gently so it didn't hurt. They also wiped off any dye that got on my face, so nothing was left on my skin — I loved that!

After about 10 minutes, I moved to the shampoo room where the dye was rinsed out thoroughly. The refreshing scalp massage and gentle handling protected my hair and was totally healing haha.

What happens in the clinic after coloring?

After the color, I had the clinic treatment — about two rounds of steaming and applying treatment — and my tangled, dry hair turned soft and easy to comb through! I was worried coloring would damage my hair, but getting the clinic done together took away all that worry haha.

Designer Geunyeong finished it off beautifully with a blow-dry ✨ She was so good at it that I watched closely trying to copy her technique, but I don't think I'll ever manage it myself..

The result after 3 hours: toned-down dark ash brown

Since my hair was so long and I also got the clinic, it took nearly 3 hours, but the result was totally satisfying 🥹 The blotchy, messy-looking color turned calm and toned down!

It's the perfect autumn color — a calm yet stylish tone-down ash brown 🤎 And my hair wasn't damaged at all, the best!
