Men's style cut and sideburn trim at Sangwangsimni salon Oreudeubi

Hi, this is Nidyu :) My hair grows fast and gets bulky on the sides, so this time I went for a style cut and down perm together at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch, a hair salon in Sangwangsimni. I put my hair in the hands of Designer Youngjun.

Where Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is and what the salon feels like

Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is on the first floor of the Centras commercial building, i-dong. It was easy to find the shop once inside the building, and the building restrooms were convenient too. You end up noticing these little things when you go get a haircut, haha.

Here's what it looks like inside. A space blending gray and white, with long ceiling lighting running overhead, and mirrors and styling chairs lined up neatly. Overall a very clean feel.

When you sit down, there's a service guide and products laid out in front of the mirror. There seemed to be a lot of regulars when I visited, and after watching the cutting process, I could see why people keep coming back. That's how thorough and detailed the cutting was!

Men's style cut and down perm: where to check the price

Oreudeubi is a salon with a team of professional designers, and I got a style cut + down perm from Designer Youngjun. The sign in the photo shows the women's service menu, but note that both men's and women's prices with discounts can be checked on Naver Reservation!

There are hair products displayed on one side of the salon too. I liked that they only use verified products — Premium L'Oréal, Milbon, Ayounche. These days you really have to be mindful about the products used on your hair! It's great when a salon uses good products like this, haha.

Before the cut: hair puffing out at the sides

Here's what it looked like before the cut. There's quite a lot of buildup on the sides and back, haha. When my hair grows out, it tends to look wide overall, so the side bulkiness bothers me just as much as the length. Especially once my ears start getting covered, I know it's time for a haircut.

Once the cut started, the hair was sectioned off to tidy up the sides and back. You can see the ear area starting to show in the photos, right? As the side hair got trimmed down, the overall shape gradually changed, and the whole time she was checking things really carefully.

Sideburns, the most important part of a men's cut

What I especially liked was the sideburns! With men's hair, if the sideburns look messy, no matter how nicely everything else is cut, it just feels unfinished. I tend to care about this part quite a bit. I loved that Designer Youngjun kept adjusting even the tiniest details. Going step by step from around the ears back toward the neck — you could really feel the thoroughness in that.

Here's the side profile right after the cut, before the perm. The neatly tidied sideburns were honestly my favorite part, haha. The area around the ears that used to be long and covered is now well-groomed, and it looks much cleaner from the side. You can see it even better in this close-up shot, lol.

Add a down perm on top of this and it'll look even cleaner. With the bottom line tidied up, the shape of the hair feels lighter overall too, and she thinned out the inner layers just the right amount — since my hair gets bulky so fast, this part especially made me happy. Even as it grows out, it should look less bulky and hold this shape longer, so I'm looking forward to it :)

And here's something unusual about this place! You get to use a massage chair while your hair is being shampooed. Getting a massage while your hair is washed felt surprisingly refreshing, lol. I came in for a haircut and ended up enjoying this too. I took some separate photos of the shampoo space.

Style cut and down perm finished: neat even with glasses on

Here's the look after the style cut and down perm were both done. Compared to the very first photo, the hair that used to fall past the ears and the sideburns are much more neatly tidied up. The fringe falls naturally, and the side lines are tidy — I really like it, haha.

I like how it looks even with glasses on, haha. Especially the sideburns — maybe because of the down perm, they stay in place without getting messy, even with glasses on, which is really satisfying.
