In short

Baekseok Kkogijip is a Korean barbecue restaurant near Baekseok Station’s dining alley in Goyang, Gyeonggi. We had the 51,000 won two-person marinated pork set with beef tartare, included sides, and kimchi jjigae. A great choice for an easy meat meal without the smoke and hassle.

A Korean barbecue restaurant in Baekseok Station’s dining alley

I visited Baekseok Kkogijip (백석 꼬기집), a Korean barbecue restaurant in Baekseok-dong, Ilsan! It is tucked into the dining alley near Baekseok Station, so it is easy to get to—and even the exterior had that unmistakable great-restaurant vibe, haha.

The interior was neat too, with storage space under the chairs for your belongings. Every table had a gas burner and a small tabletop brazier set up. The table layout looked suitable for group dinners as well.

The self-service bar had side dishes and ramen noodles. I loved that when you order kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), it arrives in the pot, so you can add as many noodles as you like.

Included table setting to enjoy with the meat

A generous table of included sides

Pickled myeongi leaves, seasoned shredded radish, ssamjang, garlic, fresh wasabi, and salt arrived neatly arranged, along with plenty of wrap vegetables and seasoned scallion and lettuce salad. There was even a soy sauce made for meat, so it was easy to mix and match to taste.

We ordered the two-person marinated pork set. Here is the tasting beef tartare included with it! Mixed with egg yolk, it was nutty and pleasantly chewy—just right as a pre-meal bite.

Kkogijip’s biggest plus is all the varied sides included with the basic table setting!! Steamed egg, corn cheese, and doenjang jjigae (soybean-paste stew) all come as standard. The steamed egg was rich and soft.

The sizzling-plate corn cheese had lots of cheese, and the portion was far more generous than you would expect from a complimentary side. The savory doenjang jjigae with zucchini was delicious too.

The meat arrives grilled and cut into easy-to-eat pieces. I liked not having to grill it at the table myself, which means less smoke and less smell clinging to your clothes.

The meat was nicely thick and tender, haha. Its sweet-and-salty marinade was not just sitting on the surface; it had soaked in evenly. It was even tastier with the grilled mushrooms and shishito peppers.

The spicy, simmering kimchi jjigae had a deep broth that went wonderfully with both the meat and rice.

Baekseok Kkogijip had a satisfying set arrangement, including beef tartare and stew, plus a system where the meat arrives neatly cooked without needing to grill it yourself! It is a good place to visit when you want an easy meat meal near Baekseok Station.
