Samsong BBQ walk-in: pork skin in soybean powder, Neopttakjip

A day when pork belly is calling my name near Samsong or Starfield!! Since I had my car, I went looking for a pork belly place with parking and ended up at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch!!

How to reach Neopttakjip Samsong Branch, and where to park

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is right near Starfield Goyang, so it's a great spot to hit before or after a Starfield trip!! And parking is available, so I parked and went in! It's also close to Samsong Station — great for a walk after eating too~~~ The weather's been so cool and nice lately!!

The sign is huge so it's super easy to find! It felt great to eat while feeling the cool autumn weather! With the big windows open, it almost feels like an outdoor tent restaurant~~~

Inside Neopttakjip: seating and reserved tables

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch has a lot of seats! It's clean and spacious, so it's a great restaurant to visit — good for going with friends or acquaintances, and good for group gatherings too! When I visited, there were 'reserved' signs scattered here and there~~~ Seems like a lot of people come with reservations!! I just walked in without one!!

Here's the menu! Looking at it, the set menus were really well put together! The weekday lunch special is........ such a steal!! Unfortunately I visited in the evening, so I ordered the Sancheong black pork raw ribs (400g) + grilled vegetables!! The set composition is really good, right? Very solid~~~

There's also a wide variety of rice dishes~~~~~ Lots of side menus to enjoy alongside the meat! Pick whatever suits your taste~~ I was craving pork skin (gopchang-style pig skin) so I ordered that. And it was sold really cheap too!

Meat aging away~~~~~~~~~~ I used to only be into fresh unaged meat, but I think I've finally learned to appreciate aged meat lately! I don't know why aged pork tastes so good! Age well, meat~

You can help yourself to as much side dishes and wrap vegetables as you want from the salad bar!! I love the kimchi + pork belly combo so I grabbed extra kimchi!! It was perfectly ripened kimchi, and it paired really well with the meat!!

What are the 400g Sancheong black pork raw ribs like?

The black pork raw ribs made their entrance!! And what's this rice cake tucked in between...! Sprinkled generously with coarse salt!! Looked delicious even before grilling haha

Vegetables for grilling~~ They were fresh, so eating them in between bites cut through the richness perfectly!

Black pork raw ribs aren't something I order often! But I fell for it after trying it! It has a charm of its own that's similar to yet different from pork belly, and it totally won me over!!!!

Chewier and springier than pork belly! And after eating everything off, the meat left on the rib bone was so tasty~~~

The staff showed me the tastiest way to eat it, so I tried it their way~ They told me to dip each piece one at a time!!! Cook up nicely, meat~~~ The stone plate is special, so the meat came out even more delicious!

Tasting the meat's own flavor with the sauce~~~ with wrap vegetables~~~ and the sour kimchi + meat combo — so many ways to enjoy it!!

My friend was craving pork skin so we ordered it!! Chewy and really huge in size!!! A nice light way to finish off after eating meat! Pork skin + soybean powder combo is... love, right~~~~~~~?
